Hey VP, what would have been different if Tigatron never took Wolfang's place in the Beast Wars?

Dear Canine Compatriot,

There is one universe I know of where the stasis pod that would have become Tigatron took a different trajectory as it plummeted to Earth, and crash-landed in a different region populated by wild wolves. Much like the reality you are familiar with, this new Maximal emerged from stasis with damaged datatrax, unable to recall anything other than his name. Here, however, the story takes quite a different turn. When Wolfang rescued the other Maximals from Predacon ambush, he decided to return to the Axalon with the others in the hopes that the team could help support him as he settled into life as a Maximal.

In this world, Cheetor’s beast-mode instincts prevented him from forming the kind of fraternal bond with Wolfang akin to the one between his alternate self and Tigatron. Wolfang trusted Dinobot unconditionally, perhaps recognizing him as another “lost soul”—which only led to great friction between him and Rattrap. As a result, Wolfang struggled to find the kind of acceptance that Tigatron had so easily enjoyed, and when Megatron eventually abducted him to test out his new Transmuter device, I feel as though some of this internalized resentment had an impact on his new personality. Clad in sinister red armor, Wolfang was now a cold, detatched warrior, and although the Maximals of another world were able to rescue Rhinox from a similar fate, Wolfang had neither the strength nor the talent to sow such havoc among the crew of the Darksyde, and the Maximals were never able to turn him back into the Maximal he’d once been. As the Beast Wars continued to evolve, he soon found a new arch-nemesis in the form of the nimble Airazor.

Eventually, Wolfang took part in a Predacon scheme to steal the Axalon’s rectifier coil; without Tigatron, the Maximals were unable to navigate the programming block responsible for their beast mode instincts overriding their Cybertronian faculties, and the Predacons soon slaughtered the five mode-locked Maximals. However, this tragic tale ends shortly afterwards—when the Vok arrived, the Predacons proved unable to mount an effective defense against the aliens, and were themselves destroyed by their planet-sterilizing superweapon.

wait ok going off of the post i made here i just wanna say how refreshingly fun rattrap is (at least what i've seen from beast wars so far), because he's just naturally kind of a whiny asshole at times. the dude seems like a good guy at heart and can even be heroic but he's always such a smartass about it. like he just has to get the last word in and he just has to antagonize dinobot and he just has to be the type of person who will go "fine, i'll do my job. but i'm going to complain about it the whole time. loudly." but in a fun way. when i think of tf characters i'm familiar with who don't listen to orders and have issues initially "fitting in" with the autobots they're either more like dinobot (e.g. armada starscream) or cheetor (e.g. tfp smokescreen). like, they have difficulties adjusting to their role in the group because of their morals, past trauma, or being too fresh-faced/inexperienced, and that's an issue that needs to be addressed or corrected in some way so that the group dynamic becomes more cohesive. idk what happens later in beast wars but rattrap seems like the type of guy who is the odd one out because he's just Like That. he's annoying and insubordinate and runs his mouth because that's just who he is. he is incorrigible and tests the limits of optimus primal's patience and is still one of the good guys we root for (and we do root for him, because he's competent and entertaining and turns into a squeaky rat). and it's great--i think all optimuses (optimi?) should have a rattrap to deal with just like all megatrons have a starscream

I really don't like Rattrap's mischaracterization in other media. I don't understand how someone can see his character in Beast Wars and think that he's some sort of cowardly con artist only thinking about himself.

He's a heroic Maximal! He legitimately hated the bad guy faction of Predacons (which was extremely prejudiced of him) and once he actually got to know one of them, overcame his biases and became a better person. Being cautious doesn't make you a coward if you have experience on what can go wrong. He's loyal to a fault to his team.

Remember, it's "WE're all going to die..." Not "I'm going to die."

The Static Shock series heavily implies dcau Tim Drake was on the same Titans team as Beast Boy so it would legitimately be something that Terry would assume if he read up on superhero history.

It would be a pretty big time travel mistake to imply more than one Robin though...

I like the idea cybertronians eat more than just energon. I think it’d be neat if they could/needed to incorporate other metal & minerals in to their diets. Especially to aid in different health conditions.

I saw a post that showed a comic panel with a nice platter of lead cubes. Energon is probably the main fuel source but not the only necessary component of their diet. They probably need coolant/water to keep from overheating, some lubricant/oil to keep joints limber, different metals to keep plating in good condition and that lead from earlier? Keeps the energies of a spark and others from leaking out.

Why would some Transformers have teeth if they have a liquid diet? Easy. They can consume solids like raw energon and metal elements. And why limit their consumption method to their mouth? I am getting more speculative and a bit more my interpretation but some bots don't have a removable face plate. I'm just thinking there could be slots elsewhere to get 'nutrients' in their bodies.

By the way, those slots in my mind would be like battery ports. I thought about something like a battery flight at a space restaurant, different brands to try, different power levels and such. That could be cool.

Guacamole is extremely good, especially the stuff I can make.

Olives are all good I don’t understand why people dislike them

Mango is good, not ‘I want to make out with it’ good, but good.

Hummus is fine situationally, I prefer other things but for veggies it’s good.

Tomatoes aren’t good raw but the products and dishes are great.

Cannolis are alright, not my favorite but I’ll eat them where nothing else is available.

I've done this but yeah I would like to go more in depth.

Guacamole: Store bought is alright but home made is where it's at. Can't really handle spice though.

Olives: Not a fan. I'm already conditional on pickles but if it's not oil, don't give me any.

Mangoes: I have not had a bad mango yet. Some alright, some very good. Texture wise it at least has to be fruit firm and I like them more sour than sweet.

Hummus: There are brands that I like and some I vibe less with. Very good additive honestly and it's not too bad homemade.

Tomatoes: Okay. I'm going to sound so picky here. Hate them raw. Bad taste, bad texture. As a sauce, I warmed up to it, but if there are chunks in it, I gotta remove them.

Cannolo: A food yet to grace my taste buds. Research tells me the outer shell is fried dough. Win! The inside is a sweet ricotta based cream. Less of a win.
