OKOK, I'M WAY TOO BUSY TO WRITE FANFIC MYSELF, BUT I SOMEHOW KEEP COMING UP WITH TROPES AND IDEAS, SO PLEASE TUMBLR FEED OFF OF THIS!!!

Context: I was talking with a coworker of mine yesterday, and I don't really remember how it went, but we were talking work specifics and after I suggested something rather inefficient, he told me "that's homophobic" (an interesting way we have of just, saying a suggested idea someone has had is terrible, bc well, fuck homophobia IS terrible), and without skipping a beat I looked into this man's eyes and went "no, what's homophobic is me being single during pride month", which led me to imagine the concept of a "pride partner"/"pride dating" as a trope.

A sort of variation on fake dating except, well, the people involved are actually dating although they're doing it in more of a friendly manner for pride month. You've got the cuddling, and the dating, and whatever part of a relationship you want to give the ship, except it eventually leads to something more bc they catch feelings!!!

So to everyone out there who can write right now, please do enjoy "pride dating" as a ship trope!! Have fun!! Oh!! And please tag me if anyone writes with this, I'd love to read it!!

Ok, so I was rewatching Step Up for the, like, quadrillionth time, and re-visiting snippets from Step Up Revolution, and I propose: Buddie AU in which, while Buck was going around the world trying to find himself, Eddie was with The Mob using dance as a form of protest and activism (bc rebel Eddie).

Now, it can either link back to cannon by twisting things around and having Eddie end up in the Army bc his parents find a young, recently widowed, vulnerable Shannon who's doing her best trying to take care of Christopher and they manipulate her into convincing Eddie that Chris is his child (he isn't) although she never told him that she was pregnant because she didn't want to put that burden on him (Eddie finds out about this, but he still doesn't abandon them because, well, this is Eddie we're talking about). This becomes relevant because instead of joining an underground fighting club, Eddie finds and joins another activist dance crew, then Buck finds out about it, cue the one-sided pinning and silent support (or whatever trope you want to attach to this variation of cannon).

OR, it can branch into a thousand other alternative realities, like...

...one in which Buck ends up learning to dance in one of his trips and becomes wildly passionate about it (although he sucks, he's more of an acrobatics kind of guy anyway [hence his signature backflip in the annual fire bids in cannon]), finds out about The Mob, decides to join and Eddie has to teach him how everything works, hence the very inevitable slow burn.

...one in which Buck ends up becoming a police officer because he finds out about how Maddie is being abused and he wants to protect her, and once he does they end up going to Miami (bc change of scenery) where he is assigned to the unit trying to stop The Mob, cue a WONDERFUL enemies-to-reluctant-allies (bc you CANNOT convince me of the fact that once Buck understood why The Mob was doing what they were doing he wouldn't do whatever was on his power to give them a hand, because, well, this is Buck we're talking about) to-friends-to-lovers.

There are things that remain the same, Christopher is still Eddie's son, no matter if he took him in, adopted him, is his actual biological father... Eddie and Buck are both pure of heart and dumb of ass... And at the end they always, always end up in love.

So yeah! Apparently I had many more ideas regarding this than I thought, but there they are!

Ok, I'm not one to lean toward these things, but I was working on a few more Pitt Playlists, and this song came up as one of the recommended, and I'll be damned if it didn't immediately remind me of, like, 2/3 of the Pitt Shipping Fandom, and how I'll inevitably find at least three different posts with this dynamic when looking for different ships.

So here you go. I'm not gonna use it, because it's not really my thing, but for everyone in the fandom out there who enjoys it, happy listening!

It has also crossed my mind Robby might have some sort of outburst and break the bike on purpose himself. Because, if you ask me, as much as he's saying he CANNOT wait to get out of that pitt, the way in which he's acting has me believing the complete opposite. That man doesn't want to leave, that man wants someone who will sit next to him on the floor of the pediatrics section of the ER and listen to him talk and just be with him.

Just watched 9-1-1's 9×15, and it's not even funny anymore how badly I need Buck and Eddie together anymore. Feeling like a caged hamster furiously chewing at its cage's bars desperately trying to get out.
