The scene with Furiosa where there’s one bullet left in the gun, and you, Mad Max, you pass it to her to take the shot— did you have any trouble with that?

All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt for saying no.
read it again and again
Understand that this applies even to non-sexual situations. Women are more likely to be asked for favors from coworkers. Regular “can you file this for me” / “can you cover my shift” / “can you finish up this paperwork” workplace favors. Men are less likely to return those favors. Women are more likely to be seen as “difficult to work with” if they refuse to do favors when requested. Being viewed as ungenerous has negative social and professional consequences.
So yes, even gay men benefit. All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt, not just physically, but also socially and professionally, for saying no to anything at all.

This is important.
Thinking a lot lately about how this stuff plays out in two circles where I spend a lot of time–the comics community, and the development / implementation of CoCs and harassment policies; and how it intersects with both of those for freelancers in particular.
Mad Max Fanbabies Sketch Dump… Part 1!!
A continuation of sorts of this.
*I told you it was just the beginning hahaaaa. I’m sorry I’m incapable of anything but fluff and smut. There’s more sketches (lots more…) but I’m breaking them up in separate posts.
Neither thought they’d ever want to be parents (again) but here they are. And for the most part, they’re not half as bad as they thought they would be. I don’t have names for these babies. I’ve kind of thought about Ash or Val for the girl, little boy is just mini max in my head. But nothing concrete. LOL if they were both called Max. But I am open to suggestions for names cuz right now they’re both just Baby Rockabassa 1+2.
Also Dag’s baby is also in this. Also nameless. I haven’t figured Gender for them either, but my first instinct is to say Transgender Girl.
I’m having way too much fun with these can you tell?
Morning Reblog! For the morning wastelanders.
LOL I actually thought briefly of calling the Girl Hope just so Max and Furiosa had the inside joke of saying “Hope was a mistake.” I’m a terrible person.
It seems grotesque to apply the word ‘expert’ to Donald Trump. Let’s hope he’s finally gone too far and it’s all over. People can apparently say the most appalling things and get away with it and go from success to success in terms of their poll numbers. It seems like he might have gone too far, but I feel like we’ve said that a few times over the last few months, and it’s only gone the other way. Clearly people are attracted to that kind of plain-speaking, tell it like it is politician who often seems to trade on people’s fear rather than people’s hopes. They talk about building a better country but their building blocks are about making us afraid and wanting to close ourselves down.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones has four principal male characters, and they each demonstrate familiar facets of masculine tropes: the controlling monster, the dark berserker in disguise, the compassionate nurturer, and the romantic protector. There are good men and bad men in Jessica Jones, but the show’s slow-revealing pace means that the audience experiences what is the daily reality for most women: you can’t always tell a good man from a bad man at first sight, and rolling that dice can get you killed.

“I’m Right Here” - Digital Oil Painting
“That dream again?”
She nodded, cuddling close. He could feel her skin damp with sweat from her nightmare. “You were gone again. Disappearing off the beach…”
“Shh…” He gathered her as close as he could, wrapping his arms securely around her. “I’m right here, Rose Tyler. And I love you.” He said it as often as he could nowadays, but he always made sure to say it after one of these dreams. No more running out of time.
A little drabble inspired by my painting. ^_^ Hope you enjoy.
This is NOT a Photoshop filter, every stroke is painted by me.
This amazing video is well worth taking a moment to watch, via NBC News.
Scroll down to gasp just a little.
Mad Max: Fury Road’s film editor, Margaret Sixel, is director George Miller’s wife. When she asked her husband why he thought she should do it as she had never edited an action film before, Miller replied, “Because if a guy did it, it would look like every other action movie” (x).
“I Don’t Hate This Female Character, I Only Hate The Lazy Writing and Shallow Male-Based Wish Fulfillment That Went Into Her”, an increasingly frustrated ongoing novel.
While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured I’d post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.
Here it is again with text for anyone who can’t see the picture
That thought isn’t helpful right now.
Now is not the time to think about it. I can think about it later.
This is irrational. I’m going to let it go.
I won’t argue with an irrational thought.
This is not an emergency. I can slow down and think clearly about what I need.
This feels threatening and urgent, but it really isn’t.
I don’t have to be perfect to be OK.
I don’t have to figure out this question. The best thing to do is just drop it.
It’s OK to make mistakes.
I already know from my past experiences that these fears are irrational.
I have to take risks in order to be free. I’m willing to take this risk.
It’s OK that I just had that thought/image, and it doesn’t mean anything. I don’t have to pay attention to it.
I’m ready to move on now.
I can handle being wrong.
I don’t have to suffer like this. I deserve to feel comfortable.
That’s not my responsibility.
That’s not my problem.
I’ve done the best I can.
It’s good practice to let go of this worry. I want to practice.
When asked specifically how much of the framing of “smile” is inspired by modern misogyny, show runner Melissa Rosenberg laughs before responding, “Let’s see. 100%” Rosenberg continues, “This is a character who is not defined by her gender. But those of us of the female persuasion, our lives are certainly informed by our gender and the misogyny around us.”

#this gif set #is both the most wonderful and the worst thing i have ever seen #i cannot get over how completely he drops all his personal space bounderies #and how much he lets her in #hes touching her more for his comfort than for hers #i also love how this scene is framed#he is completely protective of her #but he doesnt hold on? #if that makes sense? #like often we see in movies where the man is protective of the women #in a confining way? like he overcrowds her and almost keeps her from moving out of his protection and his body language is dominant #but not max #his body language is protective #but not confining #if she indicated she needed space #i have no doubt he would leap to do so #and she can still move and breathe freely #i dunno (via djemsostylist)
“his body language is protective but not confining” YES
