Going in completely blind (or as blind as one can be with how popular it is) is such a fun ride!!! Finding out Gollum and the Eye of Sauron (which I thought of as "the freaky eye people reference a lot") was from this franchise was insane.

Hell, I thought Boromir and Legolas were from different franchises. For some reason I assumed the "one does not simply guy" was from fucking. Game of Thrones or something (which I have also not touched)
