I hope no one is sleeping on Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island. It's beautifully shot with vibrant colors and the carefree feeling of youth permeates throughout the first half of the series. The second half deals more with painful pining and finding the courage to face and accept one's self. All's well that ends well though, and there is a very satisfying happy ending. The acting is on point, the actors have great chemistry and the kissing was realistic and passionate.

The only negative was the subtitles. There were quite a few mistranslations, some which changed the meaning of a particular scene, though nothing egregious enough to detract from the overall plot. The subtitles are also hardsubed in tiny font, with no softsubs available. I'm old and I'm sure many others are too. That tiny font does no one any favors.

I actually like this version of the bookshelf kiss even more than the one they used in the series. The hugs at the end. 🥹
