Liho the cat is a mastermind.
Yes, I love the "Liho hates everyone but Natasha" headcanon and I love when Maria is a cat person in fics and then she meets a cat (Liho) that doesn't like her and she's completely thrown off.
BUT. I raise you Ex-Marine Maria Hill who worked with dogs in the service and always loved them, deemed herself "not a cat person" and was wary when Natasha invited her over to her apartment for the first time with the warning: "Beware, there's a cat that lives here with me who hates everyone." So, because she's head over fucking heels for Natasha, she goes to the apartment anyway and is pleasantly surprised when she's greeted by a seemingly kind and clingy cat.
Liho is purring and doing that cat-thing where she circles and goes through Maria's legs/ankles.
Maria: "This is the cat who hates everyone?"
Natasha, jaw practically on the floor as she's steeled to the floor, : "Yes?! What the fuck?"
Liho starts purring and sits patiently, waiting for Maria to scratch her inbetween her ears, the same place she quite literally bit Clint so hard he had to get stitches when he tried to pet her.
During the whole movie-date night Liho is practically attached to Maria and when Maria eventually leaves, Liho walks her out, watches the door shut, pivots and stares directly into Natasha's soul, and gives a simple 'meow' of approval before scurrying up into her perch on the windowsill, content in solitude.
Natasha stares at the black ball of fur intently, as if it was going to burst into flames at any moment before sighing, shaking her head, and resigning to her room.
