âAnd here I thought I was improving⊠Abydos. Iâm from Abydos.â She smiled. âItâs lovely to meet you. Iâm Shaâuri.âÂ
âYouâre from another planet?â Sheâd vaguely heard of the first planet the SGC had contacted, but hadnât expected to meet an alien so soon.
Over Stay Your Welcome
âSurely ONE of you can make him listen?â
âHe listens to Eli... when he agrees with him.â
âOf course! And welcome. I know how overwhelming it can be⊠And, if it helps, I considered leaving breadcrumbs when I first arrived â I was lost more than not!âÂ
âUnusual accent. Where are you from?âÂ
âIâm Lisa, by the way. Lisa Park.â
âCause Rush isnât as great as he thinks, and, besides, Iâm our expert on the suits.
Girls
âIâm happy to keep you company. I know the feeling, the Alliance wasnât know for much feminism either.â
âYour commander was a woman, though. The one who died. Although, other than that. it does seem to be a boyâs club.â
Never Liked Snakes
âOh I can see that,â Astarte sneered. She could see the hesitance in the human woman and judged it as weakness, something she could take advantage of if this Tau'ri was as sentimental as the rest. âI am not a fool,â she answered, âI know what would happen were I to attempt to harm you, however if you try to take anything from me I will inflict a considerable amount of pain on my host.â She smiled cruelly, her nose wrinkling as she stared unblinkingly at the woman. Â "Her suffering would be because of you.â
âSheâs got an alien in her head, Iâd imagine sheâs already suffering,â Lisa said, with more certainty than she felt. Eventually, Astarte had a trip to the Tokâra booked to be removed, but theyâd been out of contact for a while. For now, she was a scientific curiosity, an opportunity to study one of the last Goaâuld queens. Personally, Lisa couldnât wait for the day the host could be freed and there would no longer be a n alien on base.
Stargate Universe: Kino Diaries - The Apple Core
âBut fortunately for you, I have a pretty good sense of direction.â ~Eli Wallace
As human beings, all of them were invaluable.
â Well I suppose you could say weâre in similar fields. I simply stick to the abnormalities here on Earth. Iâm typically the first person people call when something strange happens, so Iâve known about the Stargate since it was unearthed in Giza. Since then, Iâve been working with SGC personnel in any way I can be helpful. Iâve provided housing for quite a few off world refugees, amongst other things. â
âAs long as I donât get locked away for talking with you about this,â Lisa said with a small, nervous laugh. Working with the military had never exactly been a career goal, but the discoveries were worth it. Still, it was all very serious. She didnât want to get either of them in trouble. â What do you mean by abnormalities?â  she asked,  her interest piqued.  The idea of off-world refugees here on Earth was disconcerting too, to say the least.
Over Stay Your Welcome
âAh, there you are. Iâm starting to think that Rush doesnât want to hear my theories on nano molecularization on Destiny.â
âThatâs how Rush is. Youâre lucky you can get him to listen to you about anything.â
Helen laughed and gave the younger woman a polite nod. â Ah, I see. And how are things going at the SGC as of late? âÂ
Lisa was silent for a moment, not quite sure how to respond. âHow do you know about that?â she asked, looking downwards as if the ground were suddenly very fascinating.
