Just realized how cool being an alterhuman sounds at face value

Yeah there's just folks who appear human and come from families of humans but aren't human themselves. A character from a show could pass you on the street and you wouldn't even know it. Your local librarian could literally be a water snake. Your classmate could be a divine being and you would still know them like any other person there.

We are literally the wild, unfathomable, inorganic, mechanical and the forces of nature among men and that's so awesome to think about

The Sienna art trend going viral on both TikTok and Instagram. It looked interesting and fun so I tried doing it myself as a little break from rl things.

Sometimes we need to look back at the characters we love and connect them to us to love ourselves more. Even if we have low qualities and flaws, theres a chance a character we love does too. And the good qualities that can be hard to see in yourself can shine in ones you admire.

It was a fun challenge to draw all my more recent favorites. I have a list of loved characters but I wanted to share more of my newer faves 💜 (there is one old one tho)

It can also mean:

- didn't want to go to a shelter 20-50 miles away from any remaining support system

- was not comfortable with the strings attached to the services (religious obligations (incredibly common), police/government involvement, mandatory treatment, etc.)

- inadequate or non-existant support for withdrawl symptoms (MASSIVE issuse, withdrawl can kill!)

- other residents of the shelter with personal (even violent) history with the person in question

- horror stories about a particular organization or shelter (real or not, when you're dealing with this population, word of mouth and reputation are huge!)

- related to above: fear of disease, hygeine, pests, etc. in a specific shelter or location

- inability to get to the shelter or location of services (frequently no public transit)
