A little artistic rendition 🦌🦌🦌
Ok I tried this and it was a HUGE hit!
Main recommendations: Season the dough AND season the filling. Also, make smaller loafs, about the size of a spatula head, for easy flipping!
Here’s how they look! Recipe below (doubled bc I have a big family).
Loaded Potato Loafs
Poke holes in and boil 6 large potatoes until soft
Peel potatoes (do this after boiling to retain nutrients and get the texture needed for the dough)
Mash into a smooth puree
Add 4 tablespoons of melted butter
Add 10 tablespoons of flour
Add a bit of pepper and a good amount of garlic salt
Mix until it forms a soft dough
Lay out plastic wrap and grease with a little oil
Place 1/8 of the dough into the plastic wrap and flatten it into a round shape
Add shredded cheese, shredded chicken, bacon bits, more garlic salt, chives, and Italian seasoning.
Grab the plastic wrap and use it to fold each edge of the dough over, starting with parallel ends. Make sure the dough is sealed all over and doesn’t break. It should be about the size of a spatula head for easy flipping.
Airfry two at a time. Fry one side at 450 degrees for 7 minutes
Flip with spatula and airfry other side for another 7 minutes
ALLOW TO COOL BEFORE EATING
🥔 picture perfect babey🥔
Couple of notes:
Season the shit outta this thang
Like it’s actually fucking crazy that neither cook in the video mentions seasoning 🤨
Don’t overstuff with fillings if you’re frying in oil bc it might lose structural integrity and fall apart on the flip
I filled mine with just cheese and hot dog bits (it’s what was immediately available and I’m lazy) and topped it with some ketchup + mustard to go with the hot dog theme
It was bomb as fuck chef kiss 😚👌💋
I’ll definitely be making again and trying new fillings; this recipe is pretty much endlessly customizable
Did these. Albeit at a smaller size:
Must admit- you pair these with ANY comfort food, and you’re set. Was amazing with a pork loin potroast and gravy to just slather over them.
HE DID IT FOLKS, HE DID THE THING
I genuinely love how this man wrote the most effortlessly, breathtakingly universal truths I've ever read and then will just...dad joke all over the place.
"A sin, young man, is when you treat people as things. That's what sin is."
and
"The IQ of a mob is the IQ of its most stupid member divided by the number of mobsters."
Breathtaking. Life altering. Simple words given to the most complex facets of human existence.
But also...
"Tiffany [Aching] was Aching all over"
and also...
"Bjorn again"
and also...
“A -ing wizard. I HATE -ing wizards!” “You shouldn’t - them, then”‘ muttered one of his henchmen, effortlessly pronouncing a row of dashes."
and also...
"It was gilt by association"
and fucking..
“Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.”
But then...
“It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. That is true, it's called Life.”
...and also!
“Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.”
...and don't forget!
“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
...and furthermore!
“There isn't a way things should be. There's just what happens, and what we do.”
The one-two punch of something like...
“Nanny Ogg looked under her bed in case there was a man there. Well, you never knew your luck"
...and then the utter, truthful, poetic simplicity of...
"When in doubt, choose to live.”
Not many writers ever manage to swing so fully between the poles of absurdity and veracity with such success on both ends of the spectrum. What a gift he was and is to all of us.
“bits to use in everyday conversations”
It deeply saddens me that "pdf file" has become slang for pedo. Don't you dare disrespect my wife the beautiful portable document format ever again
and to the children in the notes saying we need this fucking baby talk to get around censorship online; there's been no credible evidence that any site other that YouTube (which will only demonetize your video, ftr) will actually censor or hide content that include words like rape, pedophile, gun, terrorist, etc. etc. and even if we take as a given they were (which, again, they are not), do not fucking comply in advance, you absolute fucking coward. and ESPECIALLY do not comply by altering your real life fucking vocabulary. don't let the technocrats dictate what words you say holy fucking shit dude!!!!!!!!!!!!
Literally always take headphones with you. If you decide that you probably won't need them today, that's the devil talking. You will. You will

Examining 'gender detachment' in the asexual community
Saving @derinthescarletpescatarian 's tags because I just like the way they are worded.
This is so cool
This is so validating because the respondents in this paper are saying some of the same things I've been feeling and thinking for years.
I'm asexual. I figured that out not long after I first came across the term in high school. But figuring out my gender took a lot longer. I didn't really think about my gender identity for years, it wasn't until I was in college that I started trying to figure out what my gender was. That process took years.
I didn't really feel attached to my assigned gender, but I also didn't feel the gender dysphoria that trans people described. I didn't particularly feel like I was neither of those either. For a long time, I honestly didn't feel like any of the gender descriptions and identities I was coming across really fit. I just didn't care that much about what my actual gender was. Eventually I decided upon the agender label as that seemed the most apt. As the paper says, it's really hard to be truly without gender in this highly gendered world. Agender is a way of defining myself in a way that people who experience gender might be able to understand when "I'm just me." isn't really an acceptable answer to the "what's your gender?" question.
I don't mind being perceived as a gender, none of them are offensive to me. While I do like when I am perceived as male or at least not female, I think that more has to do with growing up female and not wanting to be pushed into traditional female roles and values than a connection or repulsion to any gender. I'm impossible to misgender because I frankly don't care.
Honestly, the biggest problem I have with my gender, is trying to define it to people. There's been a large push in recent years for asking people for their pronouns, or including pronouns in things like email signatures and surveys. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad thing! This is very affirming for a lot of people. But it feels like I need to pick something that doesn't quite fit. At pride, for instance, there's always pronoun buttons. But they're all she/her, he/him, they/them, she/they, he/they, it/it, xe/xir, etc etc. And that's great. I'm always glad that there are a lot of options for people. But there's never any pins for any/all pronouns. I've never picked up a free pronoun pin at pride, despite always looking, because they all feel like picking what pronouns I don't want poeple to use and the answer is that I don't care. I fround an any/all pronoun pin once at a queer museum and I cried.
I really suggest you read the paper if you haven't. Not just the article, the whole paper. This is probably the most seen I've felt in a long time.
What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
i can't vibe with anyone who thinks icarus was an ignorant idiot for flying too close to the sun. "oh i'd never do that i would have remembered my father's warning and been fine". do you seriously think that after years of imprisonment, feeling the sun on your face and the open air beneath your wings, you would be able to focus on anything but the joy of being alive and free? do you actually think that if you were given the opportunity to go where nobody has never been before, you wouldn't want to push it to the limit? to dare to be the first to try what no one else has ever even thought possible? do you honestly think you're too good for your own human nature? look me in the eyes and tell me if i strapped a pair of wings to your back that could take you wherever you wanted to go whenever you pleased that you'd be careful and sensible about it. you are not better than icarus just because you have the benefit of his example.
Achilles & Patroclus (2021)
Of all the art I've made, this is one of my most beloved pieces. I also created a plate version for a double-sided acrylic standee that had one side in the red-figure and the other in black-figure style painting.
Also I've never really spoke about it before, but I always wanted to make a Hector and Andromache piece to pair with this. Never got around to it, but maybe one day I will.
Or, or...a reminder that good is still in the world, that the warm, radiant sun is still shining.
I know I've needed that reminder. Often.
