There was no heroic adventure, only bloodshed. Columbus Day should not be a celebration.
The real story of Chris Columbus.
A new startup wants to make these neighborhood stores "obsolete." But for many people, bodegas aren't just about convenience — they feed the spirit of a community.
I love bodegas. That’s why New York makes me feel like I’m in a different world every day.
From Hillary Clinton to Selena Gomez
I haven’t read this yet but looks very nice
"Your employees are a great example of how people should be in this world!"
OMG I love Latinos.
At least 1,200 people have been killed and millions have been left homeless following devastating floods that have hit India, Bangladesh and Nepal, in one of the worst flooding disasters to have affected the region in years. International aid agencies said thousands of villages have been cut off by flooding with people being deprived of food and clean water for days. We are citizens of the WORLD, not just our countries. My heart goes out to everyone in Texas, and everyone in Asia, suffering from these awful disasters.
The prospective series takes as its premise an ugly truth that black Americans are forced to live every day: What if the Confederacy wasn’t wholly defeated?
You can’t compare Nazi Germany to the Southern Confederacy. For African Americans, they are still living history.
I thought this generation was free of the anti-Semitism I knew. On Saturday, that changed.
Let’s hear from the Jews! I love this piece. Beautifully written, and almost immediately brought tears to my eyes.
This map shows where everyone in America came from! Lol.
Everyone’s seen this by now, but it’s gotta go on my What’s Good News page!!! Best news report I saw all summer, even though the awful situation in Charlottesville and the rest of the US is no joke.
Love you, Tina.
Bill Nye the science guy gives a speech about the human existential realization of our place in the Universe and how humanity is only one race.

'What I did not realise until now is that the cloak I was offering my kids was identification with my whiteness,' writes Kate Riffle Roper.
Well I officially learned how to mix songs, then my musical opened, then I got incredibly sick... so I haven’t really been updating What’s Good News.
I’ll start back up with some light reading on a heavy topic. Don’t ever tell someone you know their experience better than them, and don’t ever tell people to stop fighting for themselves.
Maggie Rogers breaks down her hit song "Alaska."
Love you Maggie.
More comfortable online than out partying, post-Millennials are safer, physically, than adolescents have ever been. But they’re on the brink of a mental-health crisis.
I feel like this is one of the more objective pieces I’ve seen on “the smart phone generation.” Like every other generation, there are positives and negatives are our gradual change. Turns out teens these days are safer and less sexually active because they stay at home on their phones lol, and depression rates have gone up-- or maybe people have more time to report their depression on their phone.
This was my Friday night. Absolutely incredible performance. He is a genius.
Hip-hop's unsigned overachiever speaks with Stretch and Bobbito about SoundCloud, how parenting has changed his music and his million-dollar donation to Chicago Public Schools.
U know I’ve been lovin my little boy Chance lately. OMG he’s so little and thoughtful and cute and awesome.
