My boyfriend made an ambient song over the weekend and I love it so much

I was sitting in my studio late one night, trying to decide what I wanted to work on, when I got a loop stuck in my head. "I want to wake up where you are..." like plenty of songs that get stuck in our heads, I didn't know the rest of the song, so it was stuck looping. I couldn't even remember the song.

So I googled it, and my immediate response was, "what the fuck is that doing looping in my head, over a decade later?" In that moment my brain snapped into a mental jam session, where the loop was used over a really sick futuristic club kinda beat. As soon as I heard this, I knew I had to write it down. From that moment, I spent 12+ hours straight on it, developing the general concept, then returning to the studio for more multi hour sessions on it, refining it, playing it at burning man, refining it some more, and then finally releasing it now.

Through this song, you are not only experiencing a song, but you are also experiencing what I felt when the song came to conception: that familiar-but-out-of-reach memory looping in your head, in completely unexpected ways.

There are a lot of ideas about what makes a song or sound "psychedelic", and there are a lot of elements in the track that reflect those traditional ideas, but I think even bigger than that is the ability for a body of work to tap in psychologically with a plan, and bring out feelings inside that are foreign or unfamiliar in normal life.

Just in time for halloween! I've been playing with more found samples and filtering them. I discovered that motors when filtered properly and given a nice reverb sound spooky as fuck.  Enjoy the ambiance. Decorate your porch on halloween wit it.
