I'd like to understand why people after tgr talk about Jeremy as if he's "oh my god, I'm gay, my family found out and took away my inheritance 😭" when in reality he's "I'm gay and my family hates me for it and they take advantage of that to put ALL the blame for my brother's death on my shoulders (while I blame myself for that too) and they take advantage again by using the guilt to control and hurt me. I also take the blame for the sexuality of several players being exposed and them no longer being able to play. My family treats me like the worst mistake in the world, they manipulate me and make me feel less than nothing. I will never have their forgiveness or affection but I continue to humiliate myself because I think that way one day I will have my siblings back, my mother's love and my father will decide to be more present in my life. I think I don't deserve respect, love or concern."

Jeremy's story isn't more cruel than Jean's or Andrew's, but why does that make him less worthy of empathy? Why do people oversimplify his problems so much? It's as if they've only read about how he got addicted to cocaine and was caught having relationships with men, and then his credit card was blocked by his mom who's just very disappointed.

Are you even reading the book? Jeremy doesn’t victimize himself, he doesn't make his problems bigger than Jean's, he acknowledges he was with Noah that night and acknowledges his addictions (which we know didn't appear in the story just because he's a spoiled rich kid), he simply still loves his family and wants them back, he thinks he can have that and fix everything if he tries hard enough. He doesn't understand that it's not in their interest to forgive him, but to have him around as a punching bag and an image control. He's trying to fit their expectations while trying to keep alive who he IS and trying to help Jean and his team.
