things you should keep in mind:
-the u.s. is not a nation but a prisonhouse of nations, including the many Indigenous governments, the many countries they have economic ties to and/or military bases in, and the captive Black nation of African peoples displaced due to slavery (which never ended)
-the korean war never ended. the korean war became an armistice cold war that has never ended and never stopped rolling out fatalities. economic exploitation is genocide. sanctions are genocide. in the 1990s, the u.s. and its allies starved the people of the dprk with embargos and then have not stopped using that as evidence of north korean barbarism.
-the south korean government of the rok is a neocolonial territory of the u.s. there is a physical, economic, and cultural occupation and destruction of the korean peninsula and its people because of this. i consider every suicide in south korea a victim of the korean war. the rok was under direct u.s. colonial rule and then had u.s. backed military dictators until the 1990s. then the imf crisis of 1997 happened and the rok has been deeply indebted to the u.s. every since and reliant on them for trade relations
-everything you know about the dprk is intentionally weaponized against korean people everywhere. everything you have heard the dprk accused of doing is a projection of what the u.s. does to colonized people. the dprk may have done some of those things but the colonial institute of journalism must be considered moot, incapable of not reproducing violent narratives. there is a 100% chance that the u.s. government and u.s.-backed rok government have done equal or worse violence to everything the dprk is accused of
