• the basics: i'm norse pagan and a witch. i like working in and with nature. i believe that all deities and spirits from all cultures exist, but i have personally decided to devote myself to the norse Gods. i'm always open to interact or work with beings from other pantheons as well, tho.

• currently working with: Skaði / Secret Entity™ / Freyja (currently figuring it out) / Loki (also currently figuring it out after a long break)

• other: my norse pagan journey began five years ago, but my journey with witchcraft has been going on for a lot longer. i grew up with a very spiritual mother and learned to do energy work quite early, as well as divination through oracle cards and how to connect with nature in a spiritual sense. as i grew older, i realized a lot of problems with the teachings i received. conspiracy theories, toxic mindsets and more. i've done a lot of work to deconstruct what i've learned from her and i am proud of how far i've come. however, if you, dear reader, see anything on my blog that is harmful to the community, please let me know. mistakes can happen and i'm always open for communication, constructive criticism and conversations.

Hey!

I'm the ANON that asked about what makes you believe your gods are real. Thank you for answering, but I just wanted to ask one more thing.

I also want to believe in God...part of me believes, but part of me keeps dismissing my beliefs as irrelevent because I can never prove them. I know this might be a silly question, but can give me any advice on how I should follow my beliefs without getting affected by people who attack or mock my personal beliefs? Thank you.

hi! apologies for taking so long to respond, I've had a rough time recently (despite my post about how great everything is, my body said NOPE pretty much a day later lmao)

ANYWAY

i get what you mean. i used to he quite insecure about this too. one negative or sceptical comment and i'd think about it and doubt my path for days.

the only advice i can give you is to explore your beliefs on your own for a while. don't tell anyone who you think might be mean about it.

try to figure out what you believe and if you come across any contradictions in your belief system, sit with that and try to figure out how it can work for you.

religion is very very personal and nobody can tell you what to believe. once you've found a routine and have lived with your belief system for a while, negative comments won't hurt as much.

everybody is entitled to their opinion but remember: they don't know more about the existence of any god than you. they have the same facts that you do, they've just chosen to do something different with them. they're not smarter or dumber than you because of their religious beliefs or lack there of.

the important part is that you feel comfortable with what you believe in, and that it helps you in difficult situations. and there's absolutely no shame in trying something and deciding it's not for you. <3

question to all my cat people, how on earth do i get my son to stop meowing ALL NIGHT because he wants to explore the stairwell.

i have tried playing with him, i've tried treat puzzle boards, i've picked him up to look out of his favorite window, i've tried cuddling him and i've tried not reacting at all. if i put him in a room that doesn't have access to the apartment door, he just meows at the room door instead.

he loves to go out into the stairwell and we let him do it almost everyday. it's never been an issue before but since spring began he has been BEGGING non stop to go there, even like half an hour after he has already been there, even though usually 1x per day or 1x every few days was enough for him. he's 9, so he's not a teenager who's full of energy or anything. like i said, this has never been an issue except for since spring started this year.

i just want to sleep.

Had to look this up because I was convinced birds just evolved from dinosaurs. But no. I stand corrected!

I found articles for and against this and tbf I only skimmed over some but it seems like arguing over semantics. Birds are functionally "modern day" dinosaurs.

So, do we still call all dinosaurs reptiles now?

Or were only some reptiles and others birds? 🤔

okay so since march i've been putting on sunscreen whenever the UV index is at 3 and above and i've also been using retinol.

and for about 8 weeks now I've been doing a workout every 2 days.

my skin is great and the little imperfections that are still there are improving. for the first time in my life i'm building some muscle and am looking forward to my workouts. i feel stronger in my everyday life and it really does something to my brain, it's wild. i'm not even doing long workouts, they're like 10-15 minutes but they WORK!!

anyway, just wanted to share that i've been feeling better about myself and about life since spring started and i just... i hope all of you are doing great as well. :)
