a reminder from an Aphrodite devotee ā”
you do not have to be ābeautifulā to deserve love.
you do not have to be healed to deserve love.
you do not have to be productive to deserve love.
you do not have to be successful to deserve love.
you do not have to become someone else before you are worthy of love.
you do not have to earn kindness or care.
you are already worthy of those things.
you always have been. ā”
Human relationships are not transactional but they are reciprocal, which I think many of you with your āi donāt owe anyone anythingā shtick are too happy to forget
Transactional: everything has to be exactly 50/50 all the time, pay me back for the Ā£5 sandwich or buy me something worth exactly Ā£5, I refuse to make an effort for you if thereās nothing in it for me
Reciprocal: you were there for me when I needed help, and Iām going to do the same for you, it doesnāt matter if one of us needs more or is capable of less, because the point is not equivalent exchange but mutual care
Eggshell Powder
Crusted eggshells span several practices as a barrier for protection!
Your daily dose of Apollo
I know so many people feel cut off from the natural world because it feels inaccessible ā because of illness, disability, money, transportation, location, fear, exhaustion, or just life being life.
But I promise you, nature is not as far away from you as it may feel.
Iāve felt that too. Some days I desperately want to go outside, to be surrounded by trees and dirt and wind, but Iām limited by my own circumstances. So Iāve had to learn how to find the natural world in smaller, softer ways.
Sometimes I sit on my porch, lie on a blanket, and just stare at the sky. I thank it for being there. I watch the clouds move. I let the air touch me.
Sometimes I look out my window and see birds, and immediately think of Hera.
Some days Iām too sick to get out of bed, so I get a glass of water, swirl it around, and listen to it. And yes, maybe it sounds silly, but I hear the ocean in it. That water still belongs to the natural world. It still came from somewhere ancient.
If you canāt go to the woods, you can watch a nature documentary and thank Pan or Artemis or any deity you associate with the wild.
If you canāt walk barefoot in the grass, you can touch a houseplant.
If you canāt sit under the moon, you can look at a photo of her.
If all you can do today is breathe, then breathe with the earth. That counts too.
Nature is not only found in forests, mountains, rivers, and beautiful places far away from you.
It is in your tap water. It is in the birds outside your window. It is in the weeds growing through concrete. It is in the sky above your home. It is in your own body, your breath, your hunger, your tiredness, your heartbeat.
Please donāt feel discouraged if your connection looks small right now.
Small is still sacred.
You are not separate from the natural world. You are part of it. šæ

A little something for when life insists on kicking your ass.
Materials
Red candle
Black peoper
Coffee grounds
Dress the candle with coffee grounds and pepper or sprinkle the two in a circle around the base of the candle.
As you light the candle, think about what's been weighing you down. Don't hide from it. Face it. Embrace it. Think about all the things you've survived before, and how you're still here.
Take a moment to focus on the flame. Feel the warmth and take comfort in it.
Say, "I remain. Again and again, I remain."
I think the purest form of love is just wanting someone to notice life with you. "taste this. look at that. hear this song." again and again. until you can't imagine noticing life without them.
I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
Don't become a housewife.
And if you do become a housewife, take steps to protect yourself. Make sure youāre legally married, for starters; stay-at-home girlfriends have very little legal recourse to claim their partnerās assets in a breakup. Make sure your name is on the house deed/rental agreement, and have your car in your name, even if your spouse is paying for it. Have your spouse transfer money every month into an account solely in your name, so you can buy yourself things without needing permission, but also so you can save up to leave if needed.
If your spouse fights you on any of this, then donāt quit your job. The tradwife to poverty pipeline is real, and so is financial abuse.
also, many women/people experience controlling behaviour and domestic violence from their partner for the first time during pregnancy. donāt risk thinking āheās just stressed, itāll get better when the baby comesā because it wonāt. neither you and your child will ever be safe with that man. get out as early and safely as you can
I do appreciate those ādo something witchy every day!ā posts, but I also think itās worth remembering that everything we do is witchy, because weāre witches. It doesnāt have to involve candles or tea blends or meditation.
Iām still a witch when Iām elbow deep in dishwater. Sure you can use it to rinse away things you donāt want in your life, but you donāt have to. Doing the dishes is magical by virtue of the witch doing it.
I donāt know, it just feels like thereās sometimes pressure to be . Żā ā¹ . Ż ā” Ż . ā¹ ā Ż. aesthetic . Żā ā¹ . Ż ā” Ż . ā¹ ā Ż. about everything, or you arenāt doing it right; nothing could be further from the truth.
Once a witch, always a witch.

The gods are good. Sometimes they give you blessings you donāt expect. They are there in life everywhere if you know where to look. They are in the clouds of the sky. They are in the dirt of the earth. They are in the modern life; on the roads and in the airport and in the streets and the mountains and the arcades. They are everywhere.
There needs to be more conversation about worship without divination.
