About the Gojo and Utahime moments in Phantom Parade...
Key Moments in Gojo's Side Story
Satoru deadass blackmailed Utahime, so they'd get to spend time together. You don't see him treat ANY OTHER female JJK characters like this. She's his favourite target.
Key Moments in Shoko's Side Story
Utahime and Satoru live two cities apart from each other, but he lives in her head, rent-free LOL. Utahime was trying to cheer Shoko up. But there's only one man in her mind.
Gojo tricked Utahime into coming to Tokyo again, only to reveal that he'd already taken care of business, but still made sure she arrived to see him anyway. Utahime, understandably pissed, challenged him to a baseball match outside of Shoko's office. Hilarious banter ensues~
What really gets me about this couple is that...
The higher-ups resent, hate, and are scared of Gojo. His enemies are deathly afraid of him (Jogo and others.) Kenjaku had to jump through hoops to ensure he got sealed, but he even struggled with that. The world treats Gojo as this "other" being - not a human man because he's the strongest in the world therefore is also seen as a tool.
And we know with Gojo, he's an absolute menace when he wants to be. Look at his absolute brutality against Jogo, Hanami and that coat rack guy. He's a natural tease, but if he's feeling malicious, he's straight up VICIOUS with his belittling.
Yet Utahime, this woman who's not a particularly impressive sorceress, treats him as this annoying human guy. She sees him as her equal, hates the way he disrespects others, and DEMANDS respect from him. And she respects him herself, caring enough to listen to and cooperate with him on work. She's the only curse user who can amplify his hollow purple to its maximum for fuck's sake. (There's a shit ton of innuendo in there I won't touch on bwahaha.) Utahime is seemingly not afraid of Satoru. She verbally spars and athletically battles with him.
Something that is very stark and clear to me is that Satoru is so gentle with her. He teases her, prods and pokes her - but he's never once been malicious, even though we all know he can be. For all his capability of cruelty, we've never seen him act on it with Utahime, even with her sassy verbal attacks. Yuichi Nakamura's voice changes instantly when he's with Utahime. His gentle teasing lowers to that of a softer and even almost flirtatious tone when he deliberately provokes her. Especially apparent in Phantom Parade.
Something to keep in mind is that if you've seen Satoru's daily schedule, the dude barely has time to sleep and eat a proper meal. However, he goes out of his way to make time to mess with Utahime, but also spends time hanging around and playing baseball with her and the group.
I also can't get over the fact that the one time we finally see Utahime's cursed technique, of course, it has to be connected to Satoru in some way. I just have so many feelings right now lol.
