Trying to push through and hoping I can get some socks done for the Ravellenics. I L<3VE these needles! I knit all night last night and my hands never started getting sore. It's amazing the difference a nice set of needles can make.

I did it!  I have always thought of myself as a slow knitter/hooker, but I have finally proven to myself that I just need to stay focused.  I never thought I would have these two projects done on time.  The baby shower is tomorrow and I am so excited to give these to her.

This pattern was full of counting errors, but if you read your knitting, and trust that you're count is right the shaping is beautiful.

The body is done. Wish I could say I'm close, but I still have some 200+ rounds left to go.  Here's hoping I can get this done before the shower.

YAY!  I finished in time :)  This is before washing it.  Since it's acrylic I'm not sure how much I could block it.  It doesn't really seem to need it too much.  I may end up going back in and tacking down the "ears" because they are pretty floppy.  I also noticed while looking at the pics one of  the owls looks a little derpy and may need his eyes redone.    Either way it's done and I'm putting this one in the win column, because I don't think anyone thought I would have it done on time.

Considering wearing it around just like this because I am 100% sick of this pattern and I just want it to be done. So many modifications needed and… just ugh. Will not knit again.

Pictures of the finished whale hat.  Pattern is Whale Watch Hat by Kate Gagnon Osborn from the book New England Knits.  Yarn is Frog Tree Pediboo Sock Yarn, 80% Merino/20% Bamboo.  This yarn was a dream to work with; really soft, no knots in any of the skeins, didn’t split.  It’s been a while since I last worked with a yarn that didn’t have some sort of problem.  It was also expensive and I have plenty of leftovers so I should get at least one more project out of it.  Looking forward to wearing this hat all around town this week and for the rest of the winter.
