High school English/Personal Development
Another char no one recognized. And just to twist the knife a bit, one student exclaimed “A fluffy boy! ...What’s his name?”
High school science
I had two periods take a practice test on aquatic plant life. While reviewing the answers, the first period noticed that one true/false question was incorrect on the answer key. No big deal, right?
The second period revealed that they hadn’t actually covered this particular unit at all, and along the way we researched and caught a few (i.e. a few too many) more answer key mistakes. I gave up on reading off the answers, and warned the teacher in my note “do not give this test!”
One test question was particularly amusing:
The entire body of a seaweed is known as the salads. (true)
Not only is this false (it’s called the thallus), the word “salads” was so out-of-place that the class started making a meme out of it. Now everything in the known universe is called “the salads”.
On the board are words that students would’ve at least seen once in their life if they were taught what they were supposed to.
High school English
Most of the students in this class are also in AP US History. They’ve been randomly assigned to campaign for or against state propositions for a mock election later. Some are very enthusiastic about their assigned political stance, even when they don’t personally agree with it.
The board after some friendly political discourse among students who can’t actually vote yet.

High school math
I allowed students to draw on the board, but someone in my last period erased everyone else’s drawings. I’m at least glad they left mine, but really?
High school
This was PSAT day, and I only had a classroom for an hour. Most of my day was spent running around the entire school, stairs and all, giving bathroom breaks out to teachers who couldn’t leave their classrooms during test time.
Grade 3
I had this class already this year, and they were excited to see what I’d draw this time.
Grade 7 math
This is the first character I’ve drawn that not one student recognized.
Grade 7/8 English

The office called a heat alert right before lunch, and students had to return to the classroom instead of the playground. When my students came back, they were followed by an admin who berated them for being very, very loud in the cafeteria. But... if they can’t go outside for recess, isn’t the cafeteria the place they’re supposed to be loud?
