Poor Esme. She’s yet to be corrupted, yet to see the light. Emma knows that her daughters need to be culled in one fell swoop. Their Hive Mind will make it impossible to take them out one by one. While Emma refuses to explicitly pick a favorite daughter, she does have an admitted soft spot for the lovelorn Esme. Emma knows what it’s like to love a Summers. Truly, it’s a terrible business. “Consider me fueled by our recent success,” Emma smiles. “We’ve done a good thing and that makes me happy. Is that so wrong, Nathan?” Of course, Emma still must play the role of the good mother. Her countenance sobers. “To confirm: you’ve taken up with my daughter?”

Funny is the way that the world works. If one had told Emma Frost that she’d be dining with Tony Stark on friendly terms, she would have laughed in their face. Emma’s social, but only by design. For as much as she thrives in the spotlight, she also needs to retreat into her palace to sit in a diamond enclosed silence. She knows just how much to give of herself and how much to hold back in order to be successful. It’s stemmed from a lifelong of performing the role that she’s very carefully crafted. Diamond is her nature, yes, but diamonds are just carbon refined by pressure and heat. Emma has survived both to become the woman that she’s now proud of. Her mask rarely slips except for at night, when she sleeps alone in her diamond form. To the world, she’s Emma Frost. How utterly exhausting it is to be her.

Things have changed, though. Emma’s rock hard mind has been corrupted. Her entire way of thinking has been rewired, and while such a violation would normally be considered an offense she’s done nothing but embrace it. Emma will be the White Queen that Sinister needs her to be. She’ll take no prisoners and pull no punches, all while balancing in Louboutins. If the world is to be saved, Emma must do her part. She’ll be the leader that Krakoa needs and shake the hands that need shaking.

 One of those hands happen to belong to Tony Stark.

Inviting him to the White Palace would have been taboo, so she’s invited herself to his place instead. Her food has only been picked at, and a ring of white mars the clear glass of wine that she’s been nursing. Tonight is not about intoxication. It’s business. 

Leaning back in her chair, a sharpened nail taps against the table twice. Emma is both a teacher and a businesswoman. She’s a shrewd sense of character, and she has no choice but to believe Stark was the right person to let into their little circle. “I have to thank you, darling,” she drawls. “For being so accommodating. Now that you know how pressing matters are, you must understand that we have to operate with the upmost discretion. Do you have any questions for me about what is to occur?”

Emma’s currently seated getting her manicure fixed. She looks from the white claws to Kate. “You know I value your opinion. I know you’ve been against what I’ve been for, but I still respect you.”

Right now, they’re thorns in her side. “You’re welcome to your own opinion,” she sniffs. “Far be it from me to tell you how to feel.”

Tony and Emma haven’t always gotten along to an infamous extent. Before her resurrection, she was still a bit pressed with his behavior at the last Hellfire Gala. Now, everything is different. Emma actually smiles at the man. “Tony, darling, you have no idea how thrilled I am to hear you say so. Tell me, how do you feel? Clearer?” They share a glaring commonality now. “I’ll tell you, I felt worlds better after my most recent resurrection.”
