61st Day of Why Art Is Important
Why is art important?
“Trying to find out what art means, I came across this quote: “Art is an idea that has found its perfect form.” Which sums it up pretty well. Within my search, I try to define a clear distinction between art and graphic design. Where graphic design is set to communicate and therefore tied to some rules, art is free to push towards new perceptions. Graphic design follows trends, art sets those trends. Associating myself with both worlds, I think art is important in the creation of new truths while always questioning the old ones. So while art is an idea that has found its perfect form, it is without any rules, restrictions, or regulations. Only with the right amount of freedom you are able to reach new grounds. Art is there to educate the world.”
