i think it is so impressive that he manages to make a character that murders mercilessly through painful and horrifying rube goldberg machinery, yet in this movie, he manages to show just how human the character of john kramer is.

to every last minute detail, to how caring he is with henry at first, how he tries to put things into words that the kid can understand, shedding a tear at being told he can finally live a long life. he really does manage to show the more human side of john kramer.

yet at the same time, he shows the ruthless trap builder that john can also be. staring as people cry for help, and not bullshitting the frauds about what they did to him and countless others
