I’ve had really mixed feelings about KHUX’s ending implying that the Player’s heart lives on in Xehanort. On one hand,it’s kinda cool and I think maybe this twist could have worked if the Player weren’t customizable. As it is, with the Player being our surrogates, I’m sure I’m not the only one who had a ton of headcanons about their character’s personality, hobbies, beliefs, and ultimately, their fate.
In my head, Lestari does pretend to fall to Darkness to save Ephemere and Skuld, but instead of basically reincarnating into Xehanort; she gets dragged into the Realm of Darkness where she’ll stay trapped forever if it means her friends will be safe.
At least she isn’t alone.
For everyone else who wasn’t satisfied with the Player’s ending; what was your Keykid’s fate?
With the end of Khux, and the release of the offline mode, all avatar boards are now available and I finally have the Vulpes Armor I always wanted. I'm sad that it's over but I'm still incredibly happy to finally have this getup for Lestari
So you think Lauriam was lying even in his thought bubbles? And why do you think the Union Leaders met before the Keyblade War? I admit the whole section was cut weird, probably to confuse people because Nomura, but the Keyblades wouldn't be in the Graveyard if the war hadn't already taken place.
Sorry, I misread what you meant about them meeting up, though Lauriam did mention that they hadn’t talked in a while, and he’d been wondering about it. It still leaves the thought bubble question.
It’s a possibility, I wrote a theory based on contextual evidence within KH:UX and following through on their futures in the mainline console games- I also said Skuld was a possibility but we don’t know what happens to her after the events of KH:UX yet, so there’s just not enough evidence to talk about her as a suspect. I still count her as one, don’t get me wrong, but what we do have does point to Lauriam as a suspect, especially if he’s lying- which he could be and my theory was based around the idea that the murderer is after the Book of Prophecies- not just the Rule book
And yes, I still think Lauriam could be lying even with his thought bubbles and here’s why: context. Each time we see his thought bubbles (to my memory, I haven’t rewatched all of them recently and I’m not in the mood to go looking it up) he’s providing a sum up of what we already know- not considering new possibilities or making theories about what happened or what to do next, just a check list of facts.
He’s always asking about Sterlizia’s whereabouts, and not about her well being. The only times (again, as far as I remember) he actually seemed concerned about her safety was when someone was with him to put on a show for, when he’s on his own, he doesn’t appear to be in much of a hurry to find her.
It was established in an earlier cutscene that Keyblade weilders go missing all the time and it’s not questioned, assumed they were stuck down in battle. I would have thought this would be the first thing Lauriam would think if his ‘sister’ went missing, especially since there was, in fact, a war going on.
The gap in time becomes all the more concerning if Lauriam claims they weren’t talking, there was a war going on, they were both Dandelions, shouldn’t he have at least been checking in on her to make sure she’s alright?Note: Even though the New Union Leaders weren’t supposed to identify themselves until after, the Dandelions themselves were not toiling about in secret from each other. Ava held special training sessions with the Dandelions before the war began, and Skuld was openly identified as one by Aced- this is also how Sterlizia knows that Player is not a Dandelion. If they were both Dandelions, Lauriam should have noticed her missing long before the war started, just on account of them both being Dandelions.
Back with Elrena again, when he spoke to her, she admitted that she didn’t know Sterlizia that well and was surprised she had a brother. If he’s so worried about her, why not talk to someone who was a little closer to her? We know Sterlizia didn’t have a lot of friends, but she did mention that there a few people who were close at some point- people who might have at least known she had a brother. If Lauriam is lying, he would need the help of someone who would know Sterlizia, but not well enough to question her having a brother that she never mentioned
Here’s another key thing: Sterlizia and Elrena’s Chirithy were close, apparently, but not the girls themselves. Her Chirithy could also be why he sought out Elrena- someone his own Chirithy might have been monitering to know that Sterlizia and Elrena’s Chirithy had spoken before the murder, and even a look out.
So, cycling back to the thought bubbles, his situation sum up and lack of awareness that she was missing- it makes more sense that he’s retracing the events to look for something other than Sterlizia. With all the chaos, if he did it, he needs a time table and the chain of events leading up to and after- did I strike her down before or after the bells rang? Who was she trying to meet? What for? Why was she trying to get Player to join the Dandelions? Did she succeed?
If this theory is correct, I would not not be surprised if Lauriam accuses Player of the murder next- thinking that Sterlizia may have realized someone was spying on her and passed the BoP off to Player for safe keeping.
Once more, this is just a theory and one of two options, as far as I’m concerned, Skuld is still a suspect, it just happens that there is more evidence to support Lauriam based on what the games tells us about him- if an update comes along that gives us more clues pointing to Skuld, I will write up my thoughts on that. Nothing is set in stone.
It was either Skuld or Lauriam, and I lean more toward Lauriam
We all know it was one of the current union leaders because they stole her rule book, thus far the only one in totally in the clear was Ephemer, since we had previously seen him get his rule book from Ava. In the latest update, we see Brain get not only his rule book from Ava, but also the Book of Prophecies, meaning that he is no longer a suspect.
Skuld, Ven and Lauriam remain are the only ones left. I know that there’s people who suspect Ven because this was before his heart was split and his Darkness became Vanitas, but this doesn’t really add up to me, he seems too clueless and meek to be capable of such a thing- a perfect cover maybe, but Vanitas mocks him in Birth By Sleep for his weakness which makes me more inclined to believe that Ven was never capable of murder.
I also think that Ven was intended to get the Book of Prophecies, my evidence being that it was first mentioned that one of the New Union Leaders was supposed to get the book right before Ven was introduced as a Leader, very deliberately setting it up that whoever was introduced off screen in the previous cut scene was the one that was meant to get it.
We know by implication that Ava and Brain are both in agreement that the future should not come to pass as it is written in the Book of Prophecies, so she gave it to someone other than who the Master intended- leaving the list in the book on the page with the New Leader’s fates for Brain to find when the time is right, saying that he’ll understand her message then, his ominous reply that he already gets the message implies that he may even know he’s not the one who was written to get the Book of Prophecies.
So on the theory that Ven was supposed to get the Book of Prophecies, that puts him in the clear and leaves Skuld and Lauriam as the suspects.
I’ll get Skuld out of the way first. The fact that we have not seen her get the rule book from Ava is the biggest strike against her at the moment. We don’t know her ultimate fate yet (Skuld = Subject X is still just a theory, not canon and I’m operating on the assumption that she isn’t) so there’s very little to go on based on what we know about her. The best I can come up with in terms of motive is killing her to get the rule book and pretend to be chosen so she can be with her friend Ephemer whom she has been chasing for a long time.
Now with Lauriam, it becomes a little more interesting because the fact that he claims to be her brother and has been relentlessly searching for her takes him off a lot of people’s suspect lists. However, if you look passed those two facts, there’s plenty about Lauriam that does not add up.
When we see Sterlitzia’s story unfold, the keyblade war takes place several months later, and the New Union Leaders meet up a few days after the war ends- why did it take Lauriam so long to notice his sister was missing? Why did it take so long for him to take action? Here’s my theory:
Lauriam is lying about being her brother.
For one thing, the two do not share any physical characteristics. Kingdom Hearts has no other sibling sets so far so we cannot compare whether they should have similarities or if this is a fantasy story where they just flip a fat middle finger at genetics, but for my argument, we’re going to go with they should and Lauriam is lying.
What’s the point of saying he’s her brother? Why bother looking for her? What would be his motive?
To get the Book of Prophecies.
Hear me out: We still don’t know who Darkness is, or how long they have been operating in the Age of Fairy Tales or who else they have under their wing. I believe that Lauriam was recruited by Darkness to infiltrate the the New Union Leaders and steal the Book of Prophecies. Lauriam murdered Sterlizia to get her place among the Leaders, first assuming that the rule book was the Book of Prophecies, and when it wasn’t, assumed that when the Leaders met, they would receive the Book then. When he didn’t, the next thing to do would be assume that Sterlizia had a copy of the book that he simply overlooked and is now retracing his steps- and then hers, to find out what happened to her copy of the book- unaware that she never had one.
Here’s where we take a look into the future, we know what becomes of Ven and Lauriam for sure- Skuld and Brain we know nothing about outside of fan theories and an implication that Brain may be related to Eraqus due to physical similarities between them. Ephemer we see appear in the Keyblade Graveyard to help Sora against the Demon Tide- but we have no context to how he got there or whether he lived past this age and simply projected his younger self to that place in time, or anything about what his actual fate is.
Lauriam becomes Marluxia, a Nobody in both the Original Organization and the True Organization XIII, his weapon is a Scyth, his Nobody underlings are Reapers, the Final Battle feature’s him with a Grim Reaper like Nobody with a feminine figure. This is a LOT of death imagery, and his title is the Graceful Assassin. Assassin, as in: the murderer of an important person in a surprise attack for political or religious reasons.
There’s also Elrena to consider who seems far too sweet and caring to become the Savage Nymph that we know. She knew Sterlizia, and was in a party with her a few times, they weren’t best friends or anything, but it still comes as a surprise to Elrena to find out Sterlizia has a brother- something that would usually at least be mention in a casual conversation. After learning that she is missing, Elrena helps on the search for Sterlizia, discovering her “ghost”. It’s possible, though they weren’t close in life, that through her investigation into her disappearance and murder, Elrena might end up feeling closer to Sterlizia in death as she pours her heart into finding out what happened to her-
Only to find out she was helping her murderer the whole time
Upon becoming a Nobody, Larxene loses her memories, but she could recognize a familiarity with Marluxia which would lead her to be loyal to him, but also make the truth so devastating that she would prefer to be a Nobody than having a Heart.
Once again, this is just a theory, and I’m not discounting Skuld just yet, but I am keeping a close eye on Lauriam
I play this game by setting weekly goals for myself, and encourage members to do the same. Last week my goal was to increase my Lux level by 10 and ended up increasing it closer to 25. This week, since I finished the November limited goals, my goal is to complete my daily goals all week and scratch off the weekly goals too.
Day one and all that’s left is the Raid bosses for the weekly goal, which I’m sure my party and I can achieve so the primary focus will be getting all my Dailies done.
Are you still looking for new members for your party? I’d like to join if so
