This animation feels so real. There is grief on the verge of tears, there is incoming desperation and shattering heartbreak, and then… unalloyed awe. Sheer astonishment. Heart-stopping surprise, with a sliver of hope in all that confusion. I loved how telling these few seconds of animation are.

Soo…this movie was everything and I cried so much when it ended. I haven’t made fanart yet because I didn’t want to spoil anything, but I think enough time has passed since the movie was released, so here you have the whole family of Hiccup cuteness.

I knew the How To Train Your Dragon franchise was Hiccup telling his story to future generations, but, like, it just hit me that this is what the narration is.

Like imagine Hiccup cuddling his family as he tells them the story of the first movie, looking at Astrid with the same love-struck look on his face when he says her name all those years later.

Imagine him sketching out what Old Berk looked like as he goes through his “This Is Berk” speeches, going an extra mile with the sound effects just to see that spark of wonder in his children’s eyes.
