Long-form in two timelines that run parallel, as Offdensen - entrenched in a very dark period of his life and marked by loss - takes on a frivolous and unwinnable copyright case for the incredibly awful Magnus and his emotionally constipated band, and three years later as Dethklok first starts to realise its real power upon moving into Mordhaus - and with it, its enemies. A reluctant guide through the darkness, how much can Offdensen afford to sacrifice for a vague sense of right? And just how much are they willing to take?
I suck at descriptions. Anyway. This chapter is very domestic.
Charles scoops Pickles up off the floor of Mordhaus and they talk prog and some creepy letters Pickles has been getting. Rewind, and the late night, abusive calls just keep coming to disturb Charles and his partner since he took Dethklok as clients, from the band and their enemies alike.
Very slow burn fic working towards a big climax. Deals with heavy themes of grief and being into Marillion. This chapter has quite a few transphobic and homophobic slurs because people are not nice.
