On Monday, July 4th 2022, during "The influence of the aggression of the Russian Federation on Indigenous peoples of Russia", during the speech of Shor representative and activist Yana Tannagasheva, the Russian government representative sat behind her and aggressively harassed her.
From Yana Tannagasheva's social media: "During my speech at EMRIP, Russian government representative sat behind me then aggressively started to demand my name, phone number, to ask if I was in Ukraine, in the Donbas...
My dear Indigenous brothers and sisters, I saw your solidarity today, I felt your sincere support and concern. I want to say: the situation does not only concern me, but as a whole it shows the attitude of Russian authorities attitude towards the Indigenous peoples of Russia and Ukraine and in particular towards our women.
Such behaviour is simply unacceptable: to brazenly demand name, address, phone number, wether I have been in Ukraine, namely in Donbas... After violating the regulations, he demanded the names of the speakers from the sectarian. If this is how they dare to behave in UN sessions, you can imagine how it is in Russia itself.
The behaviour of this state representative instantly reminded me of the surveillance of me in Russia, the threats on my children, leaving me a widow, the police visits.. The trauma sits inside, it doesn't go anywhere.
How much longer will they traumatize us?"
