Ultra specific Blanc headcannon incoming

When Benoit first became famous for his detective work, he often kept to himself and didn’t reveal any personal details about his life. The one thing he did talk about was his love for musical theatre. As he took on more cases and got more attention and interviews, he always found a way to slip in a musical theatre reference or mention where he could. It got to the point where he gets invited to the Tonys one year. And then they just. Keep inviting him. It literally becomes a meme in the theatre community online. The year Avenue Q won best musical over Wicked, the camera happened to cut to the audience where Benoit was seen blinking in shock. It became gifed and memed for years and years after it happened and people still ask him about it to this day. Then, at the 2025 Tonys (literally two months after the Good Friday murders) when Nicole Scherzinger won best actress in a musical over Audra McDonald, the camera cut to Benoit who was smiling and clapping but his eyes said “Audra was snubbed” (he has very strong opinions on Jamie Lloyd productions). Once again, unable to escape the internet, the clip gets memed. It even reaches outside of the theatre community. He almost considered not going anymore. But trust he will be at Radio City next June armed with a much better poker face.

“Not like this. You called me in the middle of the night, you practically begged to come over-”

“I did not beg,”

“-then when you did come over the door you didn’t even say a word before you started kissing me and pushing me into my room. You were fucking me like you were desperate to get away from something,” Elliott pointed out. Benoit wished more than anything that he would just shut up. But that just wasn't in either of their natures.

“What, are you analyzing my love makin’ now?” he shot back, surrendering to his bubbling temper.

“I’m a detective. A damn good one at that, there’s a reason I’m working alongside the great Benoit Blanc. I notice things,”

“Thank you for the analysis, now if you’ll excuse me, I do have business to attend to, so if you’d be so kind-”

“You said that priest’s name,”

Benoit Blanc and Detective Elliot were content to hook up on occasion and go to work as if nothing happened.

Then Benoit met a kind priest who he couldn't shake from his mind.

I was gonna make a post about how I think that Benoit is a Broadway cast recording purist and struggles with revivals of his favorite shows. But I was rewatching Wake Up Dead Man and I noticed a detail that I haven’t seen anyone talk about.

When we first see Grace tear up the church through Martha’s perspective, we see her walk in with this blood red circle behind her, crowning her in this evil halo. Then, after she tears up the church, she lets out these creepy screeches that almost sound demonic.

The second time we see her, there’s no evil light behind her. When she crawls on the ground, she is not screeching— she’s crying. A purely human sound, the sound of someone who was just trying to take back the life the church took from her. Someone who was hurt by her father.

Then, in Martha’s final moment, when Jud first mentions Grace, we see how Martha has seen her for her entire life, with dark red surrounding her. Then, when she finally sees who Grace really was, she just exists as a broken woman. No longer a harlot whore but a woman in deep, unimaginable pain

Pacman you and I are kindred spirits bcs I firmly believe Benoit showed Jud Jesus Christ Superstar and firmly believed that he would hate it but Jud is a hashtag Judas sympathizer so he became obsessed with it.

As for the cast recording thing, presumably Benoit has been living in New York for a long time or has been to New York a lot meaning he has seen like a ridiculous amount of Broadway shows over the course of his career. And I think that, when he likes the original show enough, he gets really protective over it. Like the second he sees a production of Into the Woods with an outlandish concept, he’s out by intermission. Similarly, he is inherently wary of revivals of his favorite musicals. Sometimes he likes them but most of the time he grumbles about their differences from the original.

And it goes without saying that he loathes the Cats movie with a firey passion.

Father Jud Duplenticy has been working hard to turn Our Lady of Perpetual Grace into a loving and welcoming place. He has run himself into the ground trying to make preparations for the holiday season. In his exhaustion, his nightmares and thoughts of a certain detective have been ever present in his mind. Just realized on like my 7th rewatch of Knives Out that Blanc pokes so many holes in the family’s testimony at the beginning of the film because he actively went out of his way to interview the housekeepers and servants BEFORE questioning the Thrombeys to get an assessment of their character

Bucky was a former zombie who was cured and sent to fight alongside Sam. Bucky is afraid of hurting people again, so Sam finds a way to prove to Bucky that he can’t turn anyone anymore. I love a good apocalypse au so this one was super fun to write. I’ve got more tricks up my sleeve if y’all want more !
