Beloved Whump Prompt #87
"It's okay, I've been through worse."
"That is not as comforting as you think it is."
Shoutout to hands tied behind the back, gotta be one of my favourite positions
the hottest thing a guy can be is barely conscious on the floor while someone lifts his head up by the hair so that you can see his glazed out eyes and the blood running down his face
Pick one to subject your blorbo to and pass it on
Hurt with no comfort
Love and care they believe they don't deserve
Flashbacks or reliving the Trauma™
One good day where absolutely nothing bad happens
Stabbed and bleeding out somewhere remote
Their strained "I'm fine" is believed by their team
A mug of hot cocoa and the warmest, coziest blankets
Suddenly coughing up blood
A hug
let’s give it up for graphic depictions of violence three cheers for graphic depictions of violence
hey don't cry. blorbo coughing up blood
blorbo writhing in agony ok? don't cry
blorbo screaming so much their voice becomes hoarse and weak and the pain still won't stop
blorbo unable to close their eyes and avoid the visceral sight of their own body
blorbo suffering unimaginable pain and being powerless to stop it ok? ok
the number 1 rule of fanfic is have fun and be yourself. the number 2 rule is the average healthy adult male can lose roughly 2 liters of blood before dying.
Best place for a whumpee to be: jail cell separate from but visible to a friend.
Medic and whumpee captured together, medic desperately trying to walk Whumpee through first aid before they pass out from blood loss, unable to get to them.
Leader whumpee getting beat to shit in clear view of their team and none of them can help.
Rivals/enemies captured together, watching the other get hurt and realizing in the worst way possible that some part of them cares for the other.
Holding hands through the bars.
Blood going cold when the other hand goes limp.
Chicago PD 3x01 | Jay Halstead Kidnapped
whumpee misunderstanding what are supposed to be comforting words.
"you're too weak to fight." (implied "in your state" but taken as "you're not good enough")
"it's not surprising that you'd react like this" (intended "anyone in your position would be devastated by this" but taken as "you're so predictably sensitive")
"you need to stay here. you're just going to slow the team down." (meant as "you're too ill/injured to come on this mission" but taken as "you're a burden")
i just like a caretaker with good intentions upsetting whumpee more and either feeling guilty about their phrasing or not knowing what they said wrong at all.
ohhh we love a good “forced to torture your friend while undercover as a bad guy” don’t we
like. when you meet their eyes and you both know you have to do it and you have to do it well
"what did you do to them?"
"nothing permanent"
Rescued Living Weapon who only accepts treatment and caretaking when it's framed as necessary to improve their performance vs. Rescued Living Weapon who refuses treatment and caretaking to delay being back in working order as long as possible
(they both think their rescuers are going to use them to kill)

Stoic whumpee ptsd
Instinctive reaction is a freeze response
Or not responding at all. Pretending it doesn't bother them just by reflex
Getting slapped on the back in a friendly way over the lash scars under their shirt. Going rigid and waiting there for a moment before they realize they're not in that place anymore
Getting hurt and having zero reaction. "Are you okay? That looked really bad." "I'm used to pain."
Or, trying not to be stoic anymore now that they're out and their response is "no, it hurts like hell." While continuing whatever they were doing.
i love characters who could get the absolute Shit kicked out of them and still be fine but as soon as someone touches/handles them gently it’s like “ah. im going to shatter to pieces now thanks”
my favorite time is lights out bedtime in jammies lay in bed and beat my OCs with metal bats for bedtime story in my brain
