i desperately need Elyas’s lore. Please do share because the art you just posted is sick and I’m curious about the background of the character (:
HEHE THANK YOU SO MUCH 🥹🥹
To preface, here’s a little blurb about him:
Elyas Jordan, youngest bastard brother of Harold Jordan is tasked to become a Green Lantern! His greatest dream is to escape the shadow of his own brother and make a name for himself as a hero, unknowing the sacrifices he must make for the greater good. But the difference between Elyas and any other Green Lantern, is that his willpower stems not from bravery, but from the need to survive, an animal backed into a corner. It’s his choice whether he’s willing to give his all for the universe or fall into an almost righteous anger towards those that have wronged him.
Elyas’ lore is quite long so hopefully I’m able to condense it as much as I can!!
Elyas Jordan is born the unwanted son to the Jordan family, due to the fact that he’s The bastard. Because of this, he’s thrown into the foster care system, and so starts his tenure of running away and being put back from one family to the next.
During this time, Elyas however finds and tracks down his oldest brother; Hal Jordan, who was just recently dishonourably discharged. They become a dysfunctional duo family unit, with Elyas trying to help Hal make ends meet while also juggling the rampant bullying in highschool.
All is not lost though, Elyas is Green Lanterns emergency contact! And he himself gets a taste of the true freedom of flight and heroism! As a promising recruit, he makes his rounds as GL Jr. and even gets a short stint in the Titans!
When Elyas is enrolled into art school with a full ride scholarship, he’s a full fledged Green Lantern. The issue is, everyone around him always compares him to his big brother, and he doesn’t want to stay as Hal’s little brother for long. This is where he starts getting gutsy and reckless, desperate to prove himself to his peers, the Guardians, and most importantly; Hal himself.
After a good frontier messenger mission and year or two within the GL ranks Elyas finally gets his most important mission to date: Surveil the Red Lanterns and report back to the Guardians for any suspect activities. It’s exciting, and Elyas knows that if he comes back to tell the tales of how he survived the Red Lanterns, everyone’s sure to respect him then.
Elyas ends up being found out by the Red Lanterns pre-maturely.
Atrocitus does not kill him, for to get back at the Guardians he will make a weapon out of the brother of the GREATEST Green Lantern to live. And to do that, he must break Elyas’ willpower, deprive him of hope and cultivate the rage already present deep within him.
And so you get the illustration I posted!!! But past this stage he becomes a full fledged Red Lantern and stays that way (up until he usurps the orange ring for himself but thats literally fifty chapters after)
