essential component to wally west is that he has an incredibly fucked up perception of his body. like here is the canonical timeline: lab accident gave him superpowers -> heart problems caused by aforementioned superpowers that wrests away his newfound freedom from his abusive homelife -> return of superpowers, now with implicit fear of losing them permanently -> adulthood inability to control his powers that leads to binge-eating and self-hatred -> sudden loss of his powers again via unwilling drug dosage -> second lab experiment to regain his powers ft. complimentary amnesia -> he dies from getting shot in the heart and is resurrected with a robotic replacement -> achieves a superpowered breakthrough and is now super duper fast -> speedforce briefly makes him shed a human form -> human again. all of which means that wally is NOT going to have a normal relationship with his body are you kidding me. like hey man how's the mental health going are you still comparing yourself to beasts and monsters and other such inhuman figures? oh you are? cool cool just checking in man 👍 anyway are you still in therapy orrrrr
