Wednesday, November 19th: Hello, everyone. I’m Gem, a bi, mentally ill, and multiple disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling to pay my bills this month!!
I apologise for asking for help again. As most of you know from my previous posts, I have been struggling to make ends meet while on welfare. Due to my outstanding bills and ever-increasing debt, it has been difficult for me to make ends meet. These past few months have been absolute hell, and with no other income, I've been relying on the kindness of others to get by.
However, I desperately need that kindness again, as I wasn't able to pay my bills last month, because I was behind on my rent, and I'm struggling quite a lot to pay them now. I owe £150.89 on my credit card and fees, due by Wednesday (26th). However, I won't receive my welfare until the end of the month, and the funds I recently received had to be used to pay excess bills and keep my utilities on, as it's getting down to minus temperatures where I live.
Again, I know this is a lot to ask, but if anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would mean a lot, and sharing helps just as much.
I want you to stop whatever you're doing right now. Stop it. This is important. I want to ask you something. Do you want palestinians to die? I assume, I hope you do not. If so, you must help. Please understand that this is my friend. Aboud is someone I would find the means to visit if it were not prohibited. I hate that it would be simpler for me as a Jew to receive funds for a trip to Israel than to raise the same amount for Aboud's survival. I want to celebrate his next birthday with him in July, my heart aches thinking of his mother crying in distress when she called him. And all I can do is tell people while he dies. My job just started selling Pokemon cards and we have a limit of five packs a person per day. I've only been here an hour and fifteen mins and there's already been three adult men trying to buy more than five. One dude tried to argue and say that since he had his toddler with him that he's buying five for him and five for the toddler. he also tried to say that he saw someone buy more than five last night. And therefore he should get to buy more I guess? But the limit is coded into the register so if you scan a sixth pack an error message will show up ahahahhaah

while i hope the AI boom dies out i also hope we start acknowledging data center water overconsumption as it's own unique issue because like. it's not AI itself that harms the environment it's the hardware hosting it, right? same reason nfts and cryptocurrency were also bad for the environment. the root problem isn't going away so long as we allow big companies to continue hitching their wagon to the next big tech trend. i worry if they don't get stronger regulation we'll just be repeating the same issue whenever the next toy comes along.
