I just got described as an "ad hating commie" by someone because I said a minute of youtube ads is unpleasant. fully spent 5 minutes arguing and defending youtube ads. insane stuff
It's weird how people can say stuff like this and then go unmasked in public while covid, a disease with ~60% of cases spread by people that don't know their sick and has a minimum impact of increasing your cardiovascular risks by 2-6x for two or three years, losing a minimum of 1% gray matter, and deregulating your immune system for 8 months (or longer). And that's the people who *don't* die outright from it.

Last year, an IOF attack killed Mohammed’s older brother, and all but destroyed Mohammed’s leg. Since then, Mohammed has been unable to attend his physical therapy due to lack of funds. The condition of his leg has deteriorated as a result.
The last surgery was unfortunately only partly successful. To restore functionality to his leg, Mohammed needs a medical evacuation outside of Gaza to get the care he needs, but this is extremely expensive. He is raising funds for when travel to Egypt becomes possible, and he especially needs funds for his ongoing care in Gaza.
Mohammed has no income, nor does anyone in his family. Additionally, his family has multiple disabled members who require expensive long term care. He is weak from starvation and only has one functional leg.
You are his only hope! Please help Mohammed save up for treatment abroad and pay his current treatment expenses!

The condition of Mohammed’s leg continues to deteriorate. He is receiving treatments which help keep his leg from deteriorating further, but he has to pay for each session and they are expensive. The sessions are €70 EUR (about $79 usd) each.
Without this treatment, his leg with continue to deteriorate until it becomes permanently unusable and infected. These treatments are the only thing keeping Mohammed’s leg from having to be amputated.

I wish people would understand that not everything is for everyone to get. you will be left out of some conversations, a lot of art will not apply to you, you will not like things that people you like enjoy, and just because you cannot add to the topic of discussion or relate does not mean that it is not valued or worthwhile. the internet has coddled people to such a concerning extent that everyone feels like they need to vocally disagree with something just because they don’t get it. i don't know how to phrase this but it feels so horrible seeing palestinians having to request strangers here for donations. they are having to put photos of their kids in hopes that it tugs the heartstrings of someone who sees it and then donates to them.
we've seen nearly 20 months of genocide and we've lost so many thousand people from gaza. i genuinely do not understand anyone who doesn't feel genuine heartache and grief for palestine.
gaza was so full of life and light. it physically hurts to see the aftermath of the destruction led by the occupation. homes and schools and hospitals and parks are all rubble now.

My friend Fadel ( @fadel-dani ) relies on asking strangers for money in order to survive. It is an extremely vulnerable and precarious position for anyone to be in, even in otherwise stable conditions. But he does not have the privilege of living within otherwise stable conditions.
He is a young man with a chronic illness for which he cannot afford the medication.
He survived Israel bombing his family's house, leaving him homeless and severely injured.
Shrapnel is still deep in the tissue of his body, causing chronic pain, because the medical infrastructure in Gaza is decimated and he must travel outside the country to receive surgery as soon as possible.
The availability of food has dropped and the price of food has raised dramatically as the people of Gaza endure a genocidal famine.
During all of this, Fadel has spent his very limited energy building relationships with strangers in the hopes that enough of us can help him to raise the money he needs to get to a hospital for surgery and treatment. He got his campaign vetted by @gazavetters list (#197), @90-ghost, and @a-shade-of-blue to make sure that people would trust him.
He raised nearly 50% of his goal, only for GoFundMe to cruelly delete his fundraiser with no warning or explanation (something this company has done to many Palestinians trying to survive genocide) and he was forced to start over with a new campaign. Despite GoFundMe's deletion of his first campaign automatically returning all donations to the donors, most people who previously donated have not taken the time to send that money back to him.
Today as I write this (May 25, 2025) he has only raised 23% of his goal, just under half of where he had been a month ago when his previous campaign was deleted.
Please, please send some money to Fadel. Every campaign by someone surviving genocide is urgent, everyone is trying to escape to safety and avoid bombing. Fadel has been bombed already and desperately needs medical care for his injuries. He is a generous, compassionate young man, and I have no doubt in my mind that were positions reversed and you were in his place, he would help you to survive. Please offer him the same compassion.
