I decided to redraw an old work because I miss the seson 3 Will..(also i have tiktok, i post there speedpaints mostly). not a lot of changes... but still:)

let's take a look at how the st4 epilogue foreshadows character arcs & pairings in st5 ☆

so if all these scenes in s4 (+ many more) managed to reveal something about the direction certain characters were heading in s5.....

why haven't we seen anything about this?

maybe this is my bias talking but this is just pure interesting to me because I think the byler scene in the st4 finale is arguably the most emphasized and the most blatant case of foreshadowing out of all of these scenes, not just relating to will's connection to vecna but also mike's insistence on killing him together.

we don't have any byler scenes from the teaser (disregarding the crumb of them biking holly to school). but we know that they have been filming together for majority of the season based on leaks, pap photos, and just piecing things together.

it only makes sense that byler has a storyline together this season based on the s4 epilogue foreshadowing alone, and mike's whole speech to will that they should start working together as a team. but it's a little odd that we haven't seen any confirmation of this through the promotional material, unlike the rest of the shots from the teaser. byler is having a plot together, whether people like it or not, and it's only a question as to why the teasers are trying to keep this a secret to us. (spoiler alert: it's for shock value and being treated as a plot twist)

also — isn't it weird how mileven doesn't have a solo scene together in the s4 epilogue??? 🤔

Can I just say I Feel bad for Jonathan. It’s alluded that before Will went missing, he was still being neglected or plain forgotten by Joyce, who was dealing with an abusive marriage and working overtime, I presume. Then his little brother goes missing. His mom’s even more of a train-wreck than before. So, Jonathan has to plan his little brother’s funeral and attend said funeral. After that, Will is found. Found, but not fine. Obviously he acts different, which probably hurt Jonathan since he practically fathered this kid, and was his ‘best friend’. Once his brother starts acting weird, his mom catches on again. Joyce starts coddling Will even more than she has been, and everyone besides Nancy sort of forgets about him again. It’s a pattern throughout the show at this point. And for anyone calling him a bad guy for just turning to weed needs to grow up.

there's something very very special about mike being an ass to basically everyone, having some attitude with everyone but reserving his sweet, apologetic, sensitive side for will. and there's something special about will being selfless, sweet and quiet around almost everybody but reserving some attitude and sarcasm for mike. something something they complete each other and feel safe to be the parts of themselves that show their vulnerability around each other - very cheesy but hell

so let me get this right,

Will Byers has never experienced someone being in love with him, clearly longs for it, ends up realising he doesn’t just have a silly crush but is fully in love with his best friend, is the only one without a potential love interest (that’s not Mike), sacrifices his own feelings so Mike and El can be happy all while going through the most awful things one can imagine for 5 seasons straight in a society that’s awful to him and that makes him feel like a mistake who is unworthy of love

and people want this to end in rejection/him dying or an ambiguous ending? Because they suddenly care about realism?

I would NOT enjoy watching something like that, AT all. What kind of message is that?

“Go watch something with actual gay people in it” I’m sorry, did we watch the same show? Is this not the show for freaks and outcasts? The show where every main character has had a relationship and at least *some* good things going on for themselves, including Robin, a lesbian?
