…the moon signs + feelings and emotions…
air moons (gemini, libra, aquarius): intellectualize. they don’t want to feel their emotions, they want to think through them. emotions stress them out and they feel a constant need to analyze, pick apart and find logic and rational behind the things going on in their mind rather than just letting these emotions flow. they talk about their own feelings a lot (but not usually to a person one on one, moreso in a venting sense, maybe into the tumblr tags or a twitter thread) despite not dealing with them. often awkward when offering emotional comfort and get very overwhelmed when people are upset/sad around them. these moons rarely talk about their feelings seriously, they usually only talk about them when they can make it humorous or sarcastic. the type to let emotions build and build and when they finally allow themselves to feel these things it creates an intense emotional breakdown. come to an air moon when you’re sad and they’re likely going to crack some jokes to make you feel better; often will offer pieces of advice but only if you’ve asked for it.
fire moons (leo, sagittarius, aries): they feel too much, so much and so strongly. fire moons never feel an emotion to a simple extent, everything is ALWAYS amplified. they are either very happy, or very sad or very angry. emotions are fleeting and can go away as quickly as they came on, mood swings are common. they can easily get frustrated in dealing with their emotions as they’re so intense they can struggle to put them into words. they often feel a burden to keep the mood up wherever they go and therefore feel like they shouldn’t tell people when they’re feeling negative. consider feelings of sadness and similar emotions to be a “weakness” and may try to hide these from others instead of seeking the comfort they may need. may often feel emotionally exhausted because feeling one thing for them is so strong it’s like they mentally ran a marathon. come to a fire moon when you’re sad and they’ll do everything they can to cheer you up, probably going as far to threatening the thing that upset you in the first place.
earth moons (capricorn, virgo, taurus): analyze or repress. like air moons, they don’t want to feel their emotions and would rather analyze and work their way through them. however, earth moons often tend to just repress their emotions instead of even trying to find a reason behind them like air moons do. rarely ever vent about their feelings, these moons feel a responsibility to be a stable rock for everyone around them and view emotions as a weakness in themselves. emotions are usually more stable than the other moons. when they get really emotional and finally allow themselves to feel everything, it causes them huge amounts of stress. these moon signs hold onto emotions for a while, when they’re upset it’s lasting, and it can take a lot for them to get their moods back up. they’re so hard on themselves emotionally and rarely give themselves a break. despite struggling with emotions these signs can be very good with emotional comfort because they provide solutions to the problems people come with. come to an earth moon when you’re upset and they’ll help you get to the root of the problem and talk you through what you need to do.
water moons (pisces, scorpio, cancer): they feel everything. not only do water moons feel their own emotions, but they often feel the emotions of everyone within a close range of them. these moons understand emotions well because they’re constantly dealing with waves of them. they may frequently find themselves overwhelmed because of all the feelings they constantly have running through their mind. because they often feel and absorb other people’s moods and emotions, these moon signs need a lot of alone time, to retreat by themselves to recharge and work through these things. mood swings are common but they don’t let go of their past emotions easily like fire moons do. water moons are often scared of talking about their feelings as they’re so intense they fear rejection or judgment regarding them. come to a water moon when you’re upset and you’ll get someone who will listen until the end of time, will likely empathize with you and make you feel less alone.

reminder that suicidal ideation often doesn’t mean actively wanting to/planning to kill yourself but looks like constant low-level wishing that you didn’t exist or that you could just be hit by a bus so you could stop being alive, and that if you’re having those thoughts fifty times a day you deserve help too
