It probably looked like it was supposed to happen I’m guessing. Maybe. I want to try bungee jumping and that requires a harness so we’ll have to wait for me to get out of here before that happens.
I wish I as cool enough to have made it look like an accident, but sadly I couldn't manage to swing that one, ha. Luckily, I didn't really hurt or land on anyone, you know? Well, if the foundation still granted wishes for ex-members, I would totally make that one of my bucket list things - that way you could get to do it, and I would get to do something that I've always wanted to do, ha. Alas, I don't think that they'd be willing to grant wishes to someone who's now cancer-free.
Did you happen to hit anyone in the face when you were flying around? Because that would’ve been hysterical I’m sure. All jokes aside, getting to fly around in a harness does sounds pretty cool.
Well, initially I accidentally ran into the scenery but that's the only time I actually ran into anything. I never hit anyone in the face; sorry to burst that bubble, ha. It was pretty fun! You should try it sometime.
One makes her seem like a flake the other lets people know she’s in heaven, so I think passed away is the nicer option.. But either way you get to wear a pair of tights, thrilling.
You're right I guess; it just feels awkward saying that she died for some reason. And it was fun! I have no issues wearing tights, and I got to fly around the room in a harness. I had fun.
The opening and closing performance is tomorrow at 4! And you can help by making sure that you're actually there, if you can get there I mean. I know you have lessons with Theresa and everything. If you want to get there early, though, you can help me get ready.
Exactly! I nearly passed out when she told me exactly who she was. I can't believe I met someone like her, and she's actually pretty cool. I think they only do one show every few months, but it's still pretty cool. It's nice to know that they have something to look forward to, you know?
No, no. I would never push a retired Broadway star down the stairs, ha. So she might have dropped out permanently, but...I didn't want to say that she 'dropped dead', you know? That would be really cool if all of you could come; I know Blaine and Tina should be there too. The show's tomorrow (Friday) at 4.
That’s actually pretty fortunate, if they’re really experienced with theater and Broadway, then you have a lot of wise souls around you at all times. I’ll definitely be there. My finals are in the morning, so I should be done by early afternoon.
I'm really lucky they managed to find me. Maggie - the woman playing Wendy - came in to see if we could hang some posters up and everything just sort of took off from there. I'm still kind of in awe at the fact that I'm in a production with THE Maggie Banks. Good! I'll make sure to keep a seat open for you! And anyone else who needs one, ha.
That’s great, Kurt! I wouldn’t have thought your first lead role would be in a musical created and performed by elderly people, but it’s a good role for you. When’s opening night? I’ll RSVP as soon as I can.
I never would have imagined it would be my first role either, but I figure having a little experience, even if it's with elderly people, would be good. I mean, they are retired Broadway performers you know? It's more opening afternoon than night, but still. I've managed to help them liveln the show up just a little. Opening afternoon is Friday at 4.
You've read right! Kurt Hummel has landed the lead role in a production of Peter Pan being put on by The Lexington Home for Retired Performers! They needed an emergency replacement because their previous Peter dropped...out. Yeah, she dropped out, and I, ever so graciously, offered to fill in! Okay, so it's not a Broadway production just yet, but I don't care! I'm sure that it'll still be a lot of fun. Who wouldn't have fun in a Peter Pan production by a retirement home filled with old Broadway stars?! Plus, I get to fly around stage in a harness. You guys might not be impressed, but I happen to be very much looking forward to this.
"Probably," Blaine said with wide eyes and he really meant it. He hadn’t thought that far when Kurt had been sick, but he had been crazy determined to work on his boyfriend’s bucket list and had a wedding been part of that he would have done it. "Would you have said yes? ‘Cos that would have been nice."
He was getting sleepy and more content. Which also meant that he was more willing to admit all kinds of stuff he usually would never say. “You’re really smart. I didn’t even think about hospitals. I should have thought about them. So smart.” He trailed off a little, thinking about everything else Kurt had said and finally he grabbed Kurt’s hand to kiss his knuckles. “She’s family too. And so are you.The only family I need.”
The mail from his mother had been a slap to the face. So maybe she had thought about him when nobody else had today, but neither Kurt nor Santana would ever leave him hanging the way his mother had. Jesus, Tina had offered him more comfort in regards to his dad than his mom ever had.
"Screw my family," he finally mumbled, kissing Kurt’s hand again before he intertwined their fingers to place and kept them on his chest. He was so comfortable he wanted to sleep right there. Maybe he should.
Blaine closed his eyes and smiled until Kurt said something that caused him to frown. “Christmas? Why Christmas? That’s like…” He tried to count, but failed after three. Maybe he had taken one sip too much. “Way too many months. My birthday’s now, I want it now.”
He smiled again, turning slightly to half bury his face in Kurt’s tummy. “Party of a lifetime, mhm. You’ll see. Just you and I, we’ll… Just… One great party.”
He fell asleep faster than he would have imagined, right there in Kurt’s lap. Maybe, if he could just stay here forever he wouldn’t have to worry about Santana anymore, or weddings, or even his own mom.
KURT HUMMEL:
Kurt’s eyes widened a bit when Blaine actually confirmed that he would have proposed to him. That was something he hadn’t been expecting his boyfriend would ever admit to; though, he wasn’t exactly sure how he felt about it. He wasn’t sure if Blaine would have been proposing to him because it would have been something he wanted or because it would have been something he thought Kurt wanted. He stayed quiet for a moment when Blaine asked him whether or not he would have said yes. “Um...I-I don’t know,” he said, furrowing his brows together a bit. “Well, actually yeah I probably would have said yes,” he said with a quiet laugh. “Would you have been proposing to me just because I was dying?” he asked softly, though he was pretty sure he knew the answer already; Blaine didn’t actually have to answer him.
Smiling as he watched his boyfriend getting sleepier and sleepier with every passing moment, he carefully ran his fingers through Blaine’s hair and sighed lightly feeling the other man’s lips on his knuckles. “Well, we’re all one big family here. At least, you, Santana, Britt, Tina, and me are,” he added with a smile. His smile only grew as he felt his boyfriend’s lips on the palm of his hand, though he couldn’t help but laugh at his question about Christmas. “Well, you know, I would agree to possibly making it a birthday present, but I think you’re a little too far gone for my nakedness to do anything,” he said with a smirk, watching Blaine turn a bit to half bury himself in his lap. “You’re falling asleep, anyway,” he teased quietly with a smirk.
Before he knew it Blaine was asleep, and Kurt let out a long sigh. He stayed on the couch for a while, just watching his boyfriend sleep while lightly running his fingers through the other man’s hair as he dozed. After one of his legs had fallen asleep, about an hour later, Kurt knew that it was time to get up and do what he could to get Blaine to bed. The only issue was doing so without actually waking Blaine up – or falling over. He wasn’t sure exactly how he had managed to get up off of the couch without disturbing Blaine too much, but soon enough he had his boyfriend’s arm wrapped around his neck with his own arm wrapped tightly around Blaine’s waist.
It took longer than he would have liked, but he finally managed to get Blaine into the bed – though he had nearly fallen on top of him when he laid him down. “Sorry,” he muttered with a quiet laugh, though he wasn’t sure Blaine actually heard him. He didn’t really seem to notice anything, but Kurt figured that it was probably because of how much Blaine had drank earlier. Smiling as he watched his boyfriend slumbering, Kurt pulled the boy’s shoes off as well as his pants. He couldn’t really get his shirt off, but at least he’d be more comfortable than if he were fully clothed. Sighing softly to himself, Kurt pulled his own clothes off as well until he was wearing only his boxer briefs and climbed into the bed beside his boyfriend.
Letting out a long sigh, Kurt relaxed back into the bed and smiled as he looked over to his boyfriend – wrapping an arm around the other man tightly and pulling him close before letting himself drift off to sleep as well.
