Little scene I wrote for a wriolette fic inspired by ‘too little too late’ by laufey which is neuvillette’s perspective on a situation where due to fake news Fontaine believes wriothesley is engaged
scene under the cut!!
Wriothesley dives forward, catching Neuvillette’s distraught face between two big, rough hands, as rain unapologetically cascades down on them.
He uses the momentum of his leap, crashing their lips together in a desperate attempt to show the man, his iudex, the full extent of his feelings.
Love.
Desire.
Longing.
He pours everything he didn’t have the words for into that kiss.
It’s messy and uncoordinated and unrefined.
Neuvillette had been stiff at first, likely in shock Wriothesley gathers, but it doesn’t take very long before he relaxes as they find rhythm amongst the pitter patter of raindrops on cobblestones and the overwhelming urge to be closer and closer…
Their bodies pressing against each other, Wriothesley’s hand moving to the back of Neuvillette’s head to grasp at the wet locks, entangling his fingers in them and earning him a soft gasp with the smallest moan from the man.
They break away and wriothesley sighs, almost breathlessly but with a relieved smile.
Neuvillette had his eyes squeezed closed but he blinks them open almost dazed.
A raindrop rolls over his nose and down his cheek.
Internally, Neuvillette is reeling, he’d just told wriothesley. Thoughts he should not be permitted to entertain, the push and inevitable pull he still felt that had been scattering and disrupting his thoughts for weeks. The way he’d tried desperately to abstain from him.
And it had been answered with a kiss.
Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined such a response…
He sees wriothesley’s face and oh—
He’s smiling.
He’s smiling so brightly, so adoringly…
For a moment he wants to permit himself the belief that this outcome can be his.
The belief that Wriothesley can be his.
That this smile can be for him and him alone.
But he knows that not to be true. He has seen it.
The damned engagement reasserts itself, coming from the back of his mind and governing his other thoughts into submission.
Wriothesley is a man already spoken for.
His personal desires should not lead him astray.
He has seen what people do for love. And, for the first time, he thinks he understands it without judgment. The logic behind actions he would previously have deemed ‘unreasonable’.
He fears it. More so he fears what this understanding might infer about his own conduct…
‘La douleur exquise’
He has long longed to understand humans better but now that he’s here it frightens him.
He wants to ask Wriothesley so much, his engagement, the fiancé, the kiss, their relationship, what this all means…
What he wants, is for it all to be laid out in front of him. Like the court cases he pours over and studies to understand so that he might interpret this in a way that is more appropriate for both parties.
Alas, the only interpretation for this case seems to be the most unacceptable one.
It takes near all of his strength to straighten his thoughts and force words out of his mouth.
Finally he asks:
“Why… why do you taste like coffee?” His voice is a little rough.
This is most certainly not what neuvillette would have said if he had been even an ounce more collected. But he couldn’t stop himself from wondering.
It’s embarrassing to admit but it’s played on his mind more than once to imagine what the man would taste like…
He knows of his love for tea, neuvillette has even made it a point to figure out his favourite type and always had it at the ready whenever the duke came by for a visit.
So never could he have anticipated to find the bitter taste of coffee on the man’s lips.
Wriothesley laughs
“Well,” he scratched his neck “I must admit that I’ve had a few too many sleepless nights…” he admits looking away sheepishly.
“Coffee has become a necessary assistant during the days lately.”
Neuvillette doesn’t like what that tells him.
He has become someone that, despite his best efforts, keeps a taken man awake at night.
He feels the cold of every single drop of rain seeping into his skin.
So, people explore the whole "post-Conan Shinichi who has chronic issues due to his overuse of antidotes" thing.
But, I kinda figure... Why wait for him to be Shinichi again? Why not slap Conan with the chronic pain and fucked up body issues from forcing himself through those transformations so much?
Are there any FMA fans interested in a post-series cosmic psychological horror fic, all taking place in a singular room where Edward is lowkey going crazy and physically declining as he tries to right a freak alchemy accident involving his children or is it just me??

Also no Edward does not keep his alchemy, thats why it’s a freak accident…

screenshotting other people’s fics and posting them to mock and shame writers is such an entitled, loser behavior and why twitter and tiktok are seen as ‘toxic platforms full of bullies and entitled teens’.
no one says you have to like every fic. no one says you can’t find a fic ‘terribly written’. but if at any point you find yourself not liking what you read, instead of being a dick about other people’s harmless hobbies that they do for themselves and you got to read for free, you could have just clicked the back button and looked for something else to read. or, better yet, you could’ve started writing what you wanted to read yourself.
this normalization of openly mocking other people’s fics — especially now with the raise of ai, bots harassing/trying to scam writers and the lack of positive engagement writers get — is why writers are wary about sharing their works with you. writers are kind enough to share with you what they wrote for free. you can just not read it if it’s not your cup of tea. but if you keep this mean girl bully energy up by screenshotting their works to mock and shame them, eventually there will be no fics for you to read, eventually there will be no fan contents for you to enjoy.
no artists want to share their hard works for free if they’ll just end up getting mocked by a bunch of childish bullies. if you don’t want to destroy the community and fandom you’re in, stop acting like a bully, stop mocking and shaming fics.
On this note I wanna share that me and my friends have a discord with a whole channel where we screenshot parts of fics that we love or made us laugh or just something we wanna share

not mine. found on reddit, but my god scam bots on ao3 are both embarrassing and hilarious 😭 I was told their usual goal was to either get users’ personal informations/money through fake commissions or get them to delete their fics so that these bots could ‘safely steal their works to train their ai without writers being able to claim ownerships of their own works since the original sources were deleted’ but I don’t even know what the point of this is. just to scare people for fun? because some people might unfortunately believe them. just to troll?
I was also told that if they were commenting as a guest comment, they sometimes used the urls of random innocent and legit users (since anyone can use any name they want if they’re commenting as a guest user), which is just bad for the innocent users who were impersonated by these losers.
anyway, if you got a comment like this, report them for scam.
it’s also important now more than ever for us all to leave nice comments on the fics we like. with the rise of scam bots plaguing ao3’s comments section, getting a genuine, nice comment from a real person means so much to writers who gave us these wonderful fics to enjoy for free.

I hate how bot comments on ao3 are making more and more writers disable their comments and lock their works so that only people with registered accounts can access their works (because while some of these bots are from registered accounts and therefore locking your fics won’t guarantee that you will be safe from them, a lot of them are commenting as guest users so locking fics helps a little), because there are so many genuine readers who read and comment on fics without having their own registered accounts.
these bots are not only annoying and harmful (if you fell for their lies and gave them money, an access to your personal informations), they’re also keeping artists and art from genuine audiences and destroying the community artists built with their audiences.
this is a post to say fuck you every bot out there.

also here’s how to spot and deal with bot comments
every day I learn bot comments on ao3 are stooping lower and lower
anyway if you get a comment like this, chances are that they are bot and their goal is to do whatever it takes to get you to delete your work, most certainly (from what I’ve heard) it’s because they want to “safely” steal your work, use it to train their ai without you being able to rightfully claim ownership of your work since “there’s no proof that the work was stolen/was posted elsewhere first by you” because the original source has already been deleted.
THEY ARE ALL BOTS. at first it was “ao3 is deleting fics and your entire account will be affected unless you delete the fics yourself” then it was “this work contains contents that are illegal and they have already reported you and your fic to the police” (yes, that’s how desperate these bots are), and now it’s this.
report their comments to ao3 for spam—in this case, specifically, I think you may be able to report them for harassment too—and don’t pay attention to them, most importantly don’t delete your works, don’t feel discouraged by their comments. remember that they are bots and they mass comment something like this on people’s works at random to get people to delete their works. (or even if they’re not bot, they are still pathetic bullies who don’t deserve your time or attention.)

as obvious as it is that these are all bots/scam, I believe there are still people who believe they are legit and fall victims to these trolls. so if you get a comment like these, don’t panic, don’t delete your works. they are all bots. you’re fine.
worst part of anxiety/ocd is that sometimes your fears actually do happen and you have to wag your finger at i like this still doesn't prove you're right asshole. it's like having a venom symbiote except you don't even get to have gay alien sex
