Tip for seeing auras; concentrate on not concentrating. The other day my mum asked me what colour hers was and I told her, then she got a photo taken of it, and guess what. Felt really satisfying to know that I got it right!

Hey there. Not really a witch question but I'm an Atheist but lately I've been feeling very in tune with my spiritual side. Would you say that being or feeling spiritual is different from following an organized religion? Like, I feel spiritually connected to the earth and the universe but I don't want people to think I'm religious because I'm not. Are you able to help me out at all?
I'm actually pretty much in the same situation- feeling a spiritual connection to things like the earth, nature, and the like is something I would consider completely different from participating in an organized religion. Though there are those who find comfort in looking to natural forces in a religious manner, not everyone who feels a spiritual connection does. You can easily be completely atheistic while also being in tune with your spiritual side- "spiritual" does not inherently mean religious. I'm not sure if I've completely answered your question, but I don't exactly know how to answer it further.
Well Water
Well Water is always ignored in posts about water magic, so here goes.Ā
Well water is fucking powerful. It has the qualities of both water and earth, since itās come from deep. Itās a perfect water to use for spells concerning memories, ancestors, remembrance, wisdom and anythingĀ ādeepā. It has this guttural, itās deep, itās dark, itās heavy and filled with powers. Get in touch with your roots, past life, lost memories, lost connections and inner self.Ā
Well water is also good for healing magic, since it has a deep and soothing feeling. Itās typically best for anxiety, stress, restlessness, and any illnesses to do with an excess in air, such as join pain, things that target your nerves or your mental. Best not ingested unless itās pure.
Also great for wishes, since you throw a penny in the well to make your wish come true.
And of course, amazing for curses! Especially murkier wells.
Please donāt forget well water, folks. Itās an important connection to the past, to our roots.
My apologies about not really posting as of late.
If you would like to still see stuff I post, though typically unrelated to wicca/paganism, you can check out my personal blog @or-so-you-say.Ā
Iāll try to get back to posting things soon.
wow um do you not answer asks or something
My life's just been pretty hectic as of late, and I want to be able to answer questions to the fullest extent. I'll answer asks once I have the time to properly think it out, and I really don't appreciate the passive-aggressiveness in the mean time.
Hey your blog description thingy says you're nonbinary so I was wondering which pronouns you use?? Love your blog btw
Welp irl I'm super closeted and go by she/her, though I would like to go by they/them. Thank you so much for asking!
any tips for witches who are just starting?
YES!
Tip 1- You arenāt obligated to go all-out.
In the beginning of my Wicca journey, I remember feeling as if when I went a day without trying to cast a spell or something of the like, I was in some wayĀ ācheatingā on practicing Wicca. I would like to assure you that this is not the case- as a witch, it is YOUR decision on how frequently to practice. You have to obligations or requirements other than doing what you feel comfortable with.
Tip 2- Find a friend.
Thankfully, in my case, I was introduced to Wicca by a friend of mine, who was introduced to it by yet another person, meaning that I had someone to discuss practicing with. If you donāt know anyone interested in Wicca, or feel uncomfortable asking, there are quite a few online covens, including the one that I am a part of on discord.Ā Just chatting with some other friendly witches is always nice :)
Tip 3- Donāt do anything other than what you are comfortable with.
If you would like to attempt a spell of any sort that has requirements you are uncomfortable with, I would advise against going through with it. Some examples could be anything along the lines of gathering your other blood, setting something on fire, or really anything considered destructive. If you arenāt comfortable doing it, then donāt.Ā
And, as always, be safe and have fun!~~~
So I'm not sure if you can help but today I lost a very close family friend and I'm really struggling coming to terms with it, do you know any spells to help with accepting and honoring the dead?
Iām sorry for your loss, and hope that you can come out of this okay. For spells:
Heres one for honoring the dead
A chant to ease grief
Beginning healing
I will be sending good vibes~~~~
What kind of spirits do Wiccans typically invoke and what is the purpose of various crystals in Wiccan beliefs?
On invoking spirits-Ā
Though there are really no particularĀ āspiritsā in the traditional form of the word that I know most Wiccans call upon, there are quite a few gods that are similar. However, being as there is no one way to have Wiccan/Pagan practices or beliefs, there are quite a few viable options to chose from.Ā
Here is a comprehensive listĀ of the gods someone of Wiccan belief may call upon, including (but not limited to) Ancient Greek and Roman Gods, Egyptian gods, and even Hindu gods.Ā
In some cases, there may be an actual spirit that someone may want to invoke, though instead of it being a spirit that has a specific purpose, it could be something like a deceased family member or the like to communicate with.
On crystals-Ā
Again, just about every Wiccan/Pagan can have a different use for crystals. Some of the most common, however, are to simply add a certain energy to a situation or spell. For example, a person ma incorporate amethyst into a spell or ritual meant for physical, mental, and emotional healing, because of those being the properties that amethyst are known to posses. For some of the different uses of crystals, I would recommend checking out this for overall use and this for specific crystals.
I hope this helps!
Hindus use incense, fire, and song to invoke. Light fire, burn incense, and sing your incantation to whichever god or spirit you wish to invoke. Examples: Ganesh (masculine) clearer of paths, shiva (masculine) the destroyer, kali mata or black mother (feminine) protector of the spirit and vanquisher of evil, Brahma (androgyny) creator or representation of the universe as a whole and it's energy, Saraswati (feminine) knowledge. You don't so much as pray to them as you do invoke their meanings

How to see and read auras
Auras are energetic fields that surround all living things. Often an aura can have a particular color or hue to it depending on its frequency level.
Auras usually extend around 2-3 feet from your body, but often those who feel vulnerable or have been abused in life can have a larger aura that they have built for protection.
Although not all of us have the ability to see auras, often we can intuitively feel them. This is often expressed when we see someone that appears to have a glow to them, or if we feel uncomfortable when someone walks by or enters our personal space.
How to See Auras:
1.) Ā Place your subject against a solid background that is light in color. If you want to look at your own aura stand in front of a mirror, at least 2 feet away, against a light background.
2.) Focus your attention to the L- shaped spot between the shoulder and the neck. Keep staring at this area and remain calm and open.
3.) At first you may see a white or clear glow but as you remain focused and expand your eye line out to the rest of the body, this glow will start expanding into a color.
If you seeā¦.
Red: This indicates an energetic and adventurous individual. It can also indicate someone who is impulsive and quick to anger.
Yellow: This indicates an intelligent and logical person who is perhaps a teacher of some sort. They are keen observers, critical and are very independent.
Pink: This indicates a very nurturing and loving individual that enjoys the company of others. They are natural healers, sensitive and have strong imaginations.
Green: This indicates a highly creative individual who is also hard working. They can be perfectionists and often make good leaders. They are generous, well respected and health conscious.
Orange: This indicates a highly sociable soul who enjoys attention and being in the limelight. They are people pleasers, are willing to give and are very in-tune with others emotions.
Purple/Indigo: This indicates a highly psychic or intuitive person who is philosophical and inquisitive. They may come across as being secretive and they are often very in-tune with animals, nature and children. They are caring individuals but often donāt like commitment.
Blue: This indicates a strong communicator who has many ideas and visions. They are also intuitive and highly intelligent. They are calm when it comes to emotions and are born motivators and inspirers. They can at times be workaholics and manipulative.
Gold: This indicates a very creative soul who loves to surround themselves in beauty and art. They enjoy the company of others and are often very attractive. People are drawn to those with gold auras so often they will have many friends. They are independent but can be stubborn.
White/Silver: This indicates a very gifted individual who is highly intuitive, sensitive and psychic. They have a deep spiritual understanding and are often healers of some kind. They are very attractive to others however, they prefer to have just a few close friends.
Grey/Black: This indicates an individual who is depressed, negative or very fearful and anxious. These auras indicate that a cleansing or healing is needed.
It is possible that someone will have a variety of colors in their Aura but often just one color will be dominant. Aura colors can also change depending on the persons mood, life events and their surroundings.
Seeing Auras takes practice, so be patient and continue polishing your skills by testing this out on a variety of people.
Hey I'm a Hindu and I've been reading up on Wicca, I see a lot of similarities, like how we both worship the moon and nature and exercise pacifism. Hindu magic and prayer is fundamentally different from Wicca though because instead of being arcane and earthly, Hinduism is more astral and aims for a higher order of spiritual being regardless of whether or not we believe in god (I don't). We also have spells to ward off evil and bring luck and such. We can talk abt spell castings/ such if you want
I really don't know anything about Hinduism, but from what you say, there do indeed seem to be some similarities, which is quite interesting. If you could tell me a bit more about it, I would be very grateful. :)
