I was a good boy. I showed up, did resonably well, played sports, did some art. I just had no interest in acting. I loved baseball; I wanted to be a baseball player for as long as I can remember. Then I saw ‘Top Gun’ and I wanted to be a fighter pilot. I viewed my family’s acting business as a job. you know, my dad went to work. Sometimes he didn’t work. My mom pretty much quit acting when I was four. But it was just the job that put food on the table, and I didn’t really think about it. The first time I did something was my senior year of high school. I was studying ‘Waiting for Godot’ for a senior seminar class, and part of it was to perform it at the end of the semester. I really enjoyed it, but still didn’t think twice about it. Then I went to college and came back to it, because I was having a hard time making friends and finding a social circle. I’d been in this very nice but very sheltered private high school; then I got to Berkeley, which has like 30,000 kids, and I didn’t what the hell was happening.
