My name's Cass. I'm a queer person from a quiet, rural part of the UK and, as of May 2025, am officially a #iWill Ambassador!
The #iWill Movement is a broad coalition of young activists up to the age of 25 in the UK, with ambassadors as young as 8 years old involved. It doesn't have one specific goal beyond promoting young people's involvement in social action and providing a network for young activists to connect and work together. Society often fails to listen to young people's views or recognise their ability to make a positive difference - it's time for youth action.
Every #iWill ambassador has their own focus. Mine is, as the banner suggests, building solidarity, fostering community, and promoting democratic engagement. I believe all three of those things necessarily come hand-in-hand and are essential for a healthy, functioning society.
I have my own, strongly held, rather lefty political beliefs and I would love to convince other people of them too, but the most important thing to me is that people, regardless of whether I love or loathe their opinions, feel comfortable within their communities and able to speak out about issues they care about and work towards lasting, passionate solutions. Especially if they're a young person, who are consistently amongst the most disenfranchised people in society, in spite of (or, more likely, because of) the fact that they have the most powerful voices.
