let me say another thing: this cup run has given me such a bitterness toward the hockey establishment and the way they treat southern / non traditional market teams. from the refs to the announcers to the commentators at intermission to the journalists, it’s been made clear that they’ll never see our equal talent as exciting, our narratives as compelling, our goals as deserving of loud celebration, when compared to traditional market teams. we are fighting an uphill battle and we certainly ain’t gonna quit, but it is exhausting and infuriating.

after everything. it’s just. I really thought this would be our year and we were finally gonna prove everyone wrong and we never get the credit we deserve and normally I’m ok with that but just something about this series crushed me. having the broadcasts all be homers for the other team while we don’t even get consistent reporting. no one follows our team no one cares about our lore no one sees the love but it’s THERE and we’ve got truly my favorite team to ever take the ice this year from the veterans to the rookies and it all ends as a footnote to the team who’s never come close to facing this kind of disrespect.
