I want a best friend
I want a lover
I want to get rid of this all or nothing mindset
I want to know how to drive
I want to be smart
I want clear skin
I want nice clothes
I want to heal
I want to get over you
I want you back
hey amber
it's you from 2024
you have best friends
you have a lover
the all or nothing mindset is still there but you've been making progress
you've had your license for 10 months now
you are smarter than you think
you eczema is still there but your face is clear
you have clothes you feel confident in
you've healed so much
you don't even know who this post is about
things are still hard but you are stronger
hang in there, my love
it’s okay to look back and realize you were in the wrong. it’s more than okay to realize you could’ve been more honest, more courageous, more empathetic. we can’t change the past or fix everything with a single apology towards ourselves or other people, but we can learn to make new choices that better suit our beliefs & values, choices that reflect our growth. keep moving forward, keep working on you. in case no one has told you today: i’m proud of your progress, proud of the person you are becoming.
I’m actually starting to believe it really is possible to get through hard days. I’ve been through so many now. When I’m in the midst of it, I can recall the previous times I’ve felt this way, thinking it will forever be like that, but then in a week’s time, it usually fades away. So when disappointment strikes, someone speaks to me harshly, I get home from a bad date, I get rejected, I get left out, I feel behind, I don’t know what I’m doing… I’ll notice how uncomfortable I am in that moment, but I always say to myself “it won’t be so bad in a week, give it a week.” And it is in fact always better in a week.

i don’t think native english speakers can ever fully appreciate the emotion i felt when i first found out that the vulnerable spot on the side of your forehead which is arguably the best spot to be kissed is called your temple
still. after all of it. mostly, i want to be kind
You're allowed to take up space and exist, with all of your needs and problems. You are not a burden, you are not annoying, especially if you depend on other people's care in some capacity, people love you and are glad you exist. Your needs are valid.
