Like okay. Waylon escapes with all his evidence to go and expose Murkoff, which he does despite being warned him and his family will be absolutely FUCKED, so when he finally gets back home / wherever they were staying, Lisa and the two kids are gone. There’s no evidence, no blood, no note (bodies will never be found) but he just immediately knows it was Murkoff and that he will infact be next. Has to leave all his shit behind, maybe pack what’s necessary and RUN. Take as little things as possible, no devices, cut off all ties, take all the money out of his bank account, use only cash. Do not get tracked bc of they find him he is absolutely dead! (Pretty much what I would say to be fairly canon regardless)
At the asylum, the entire like SWAT or whatever team gets flat out killed. Though before any more of like Murkoff’s backup arrive, some other units arrive (I think they have links to CIA, so I’d say some other branch?) and while they’d go and kill any of the variants that attack, they won’t have the same orders as “kill anything that moves”, so instead they’d try to round up all the more docile ones and take them, and Eddie, while suspended in the air w a bar through his stomach, is in fact still alive!! So they take him and other variant back to a NORMAL hospital!! Non-Murkoff!! While trying to figure out wtf was going on. Now it really does depend if they can link the 80+ dickless corpse back to him or not… he’d probably be in a coma for a while and I doubt they’d get a confession outta him sooo~ (I actually don’t know. I feel like they would put two and two together? With everything else though, idk how strong or weak the evidence would be 🤷) but anyway, blah blah once he recovers a bit he’d probably be put into some sort of rehabilitation facility or sanitarium (put his ass in smiths grove /j) with how badly he was injured.
Waylon, probably still keeping track of the Colorado news will hear about all of this and subsequently learn that his favourite little husband is still alive! Andddd he will be terrified! Because he thinks that if Eddie somehow manages to make it out, he is absolutely getting hunted down. I mean, duh he think Eddie’ll blame him for impaling him on top of all the other reasons the dude already wanted him dead 😭. Tho in reality, I don’t think that’s the best of Eddie’s issuesss…
Eddie would probably be more concerned with where he is, and even tho they probably would be telling him “we’re not with Murkoff”, kinda doubt he’d believe that? He had awful experiences with doctors, so yeah, no shot he’d have trust issues.
I feel like he’d revert away from the entire “groom” persona thing, snap outta it and go back to how he was before (cuz you know, trapped again lmao).
(I can imagine the interactions going somewhere along the lines of
Nurse: “okay, we gotta go down to hall for PT.”
Eddie: “no. Ik what you’re going to do to me. You’re going to put me in that machine again! You filthy, fucking r-pist bastards!”
Nurse: “…wtf…”)
so Waylon would js be paranoid asf. Idk what he’d be doing to pass the time… crying?? Bawling his eyes out??? “Lisa noooooooo! My family’s all dead even tho if I didn’t send that email they might still be aliveeeeeee!! This is all my fault!!!!!” (it is.) he’d probably alter his appearance as much as he can, dying his hair/letting it grow out and grow facial hair.
Tho don’t know how long this will go on for—probably quite a few years with Eddie’s entire recovery process while Waylon is still on the run, maybee like 3-5+???
Also during this time, Eddie’s mentality will also improve! Probably still pretty misogynistic, but not “lemme cut n wife you up” nor hysterical about the doctors hurting him, but you know, still wary. I’d guess the new place would have his records and all that so they know he’s a mentally deranged serial killer..
but SOMEHOW, he’d get out. Maybe good behaviour so they have him leeway on things that he used to sneak out or perhaps some kind of technicality (wow yeah, Krueger shit), they’d release him or good behaviour so they put him on probation. Tho he’d kinda just.. escape the probation officer or smt and yay, freedom?!
so he’d (probably illegally) be on the loose for a while.., and 50/50 if Waylon knows! Then they just bump into eachother one day, maybe at a restaurant or out shopping. It’d be funny if Eddie doesn’t recognize Waylon at first 😭 “why’s this dude just staring at me like that- can I help you??” Probably would realize like 2 seconds later and just like … “oh shit! That’s the guy who’s dick I tried to cut off and the reason I probably can’t walk properly anymore!! Hiiii!!”
*insert absolute panic attack while Eddie either like rushes over to tell him to stfu or just quickly leaves/walks away bc he don’t wanna deal with that rn*
There’s probably be some like mutal stalking until Eddie follows Waylon back to his motel room one day cuz “we gotta talk” which would terrify Waylon yet again who might.. yk run in to try to grab the phone to calm the cops but get tackled until he manages to calm down enough. Maybe try to catch up and talk a bit, moreso a mutal like “no one can know either of us are here” but also that Eddie isn’t gonna stab Waylon anymore yay! Apologize maybeeee?? 👀 “sorry about all that. I swear I’m better now. I’m chill.”
im am notttt good enough with human emotions to understand how they would realistically get a trust going back together. With everything else though, I doubt it’ll be able to actually be healthy. At best there will probably be pretty big dependency on Eddie from Waylon and manipulation, maybe codependency? Iffy if I’d say Eddie will ever be dependent on Waylon, but maybe. Maybe. They probably will be able to bond over their shared trauma from Murkoff, and Waylon LITERALLY would have nobody left to cling to except for Eddie. I was originally thinking it would fully be Eddie making all the moves to lead to them actually getting closer, but either a mutal effort ot Eddie being a lot more distant and it’s Waylon who approaches him again. I doubt Eddie would actually feel bad about what he’s done, but he wouldn’t really want that beating reminder in his life. Especially a reminder of his failure—because that’s what Waylon is!
Waylon is drawn to the only thing he can deem familiar, which is the same man who had him living in fear of for the past few years, but also is growing more convinced that Eddie has changed.
then they go to live in Florida and live happily ever after, yippeeee!! Get a house by the shore.. with the doggies 🥹 Eddie gets a job as a tailor and Waylon gets a new job, both under new names and identities so Murkoff can’t find them
