It's been a week of living in the Munson household, it's not too bad honestly.
Sure- I get the absolute pleasure of hearing ed.die jerking off !
if you couldn't tell.. that was sarcasm.
Wa.yne isn't so bad tho, he goes to that country club far past downtown Hawkins every Friday or so and it ends up leaving me and E.ds alone together.
He usually just strikes up small talk or asks if I have any clothes I need washed because he's doing laundry, it's pretty normal stuff... Boring normal stuff
What isn't so boring however is hearing ed.die pick up a guitar of his with that "sunset" paint job, sweetheart #2 he calls her, attaching the cord then plugging it into a smaller amp in his room.
Then I actually have the pleasure of listening to Ed.die practice any new songs corro.ded co.ffin might pitch to b.ev at that dive bar he plays at that i had talked about.. "the hideout"
I can hear his singing, i uh.
I always forget how beautiful his singing voice is.
It's soft and rough simultaneously, smooth and ridged, cold and warm. I can hear the reverberation in his voice as he holds a note, it's loud and i can just picture his eyes shut in passion as he lets himself get completely lost in the sound he's making with the guitar on his lap and the voicebox in his throat.
It's angelic almost, I even get so lost in the music that I find myself standing at his door. Listening in and not realizing that the door is open. once seeing this, I peek in and just as I thought- the song is over before i know it and his chest is trying to find it's breath.
I made a mistake and pushed the door just a lil too far trying to get a closer look and I ended up tripping over myself and ending up on the floor of ed.dies room like a dumbass.
He let out a pretty loud yelp, almost dropping his guitar on the ground.
letting out a loud weary sigh he gets up and places the black to orange gradient covered guitar on his second dresser in front of the corr.oded cof.fin banner he's said he made back in 8th grade.
"what're you doin? You spyin on me? little creep." he says it with a snark and that stupid crooked smile of his as he glances at me getting up.
"no I just-.."
He's eyeing me, trying to figure out what I might say. He's hesitating on dropping his smile or increasing it depending on what I say next. There's a tint of blush to his cheeks, he's a lil sweaty and sure, this could be attributed to him putting his heart and soul into a solo practice session but I can't help but think it might be due to something else too.. could it be me? I eye him up and down, taking him in completely.
He's on edge, I can tell.
"you play good." I finally say and I can almost hear a faint, thank God come out of his mouth. What did he expect me to say?
"yeah, thanks. You've uh, you've seen me play though.. right? At uh, at the hideout?"
He's nervous.
"I have! you guys are really good but if I'm being honest, I kinda prefer just hearing you play. You sing really good, it's pretty." I realize now how complimentary all that is but it doesn't matter to him because I can see that blush has come back, he's shifting from foot to foot, biting his lip as he tries to fight a bashful- almost cocky smile.
"well thank you, I'm flattered." His eyes are lidded and heavy, he's eyeing me up and down too.
Taking in the thick curves of my fattened hips, my chunky thighs, and i even catch him take a gander at my tubby fingers.
He's.. he's really staring,,, huh..
"you're always welcome to come to the next one, we uh. We're planning this event at the wheelers house? It'd be.." he steps forward, looking down at my chubby digits and holding them in his own ringed hands
"it'd be nice if you came sweetheart."
It's like an arrow to the heart.
No.. a machete to the chest, yeah. But in a really good way! Like if cupid stepped up his game this year- instead of shooting arrows in hearts, he'd probably start launching axes in peoples chests to tell them "HEY YOU'RE IN LOVE NOW."
even when he does it to someone who shouldn't be in love with someone..

"no, no of course not. I'll bring you early, how about we call it a backstage pass hm? You get to watch my band set up before the big show" He's smiling at me again, he's giving me that look again. "babe you there?" He smiles at me, my eyes boring into his as he jumps in front of me trying to get me to respond- a flash of fear at my unresponsiveness comes across his face.
I blink frequently, "huh? Oh.. y-yeah sounds good.." I say trying to reassure him and I look around a bit, trying to ground myself again but then I realize what he just.. called me
and I squint at him.
"did you call me.. babe?" It comes out accusatory which makes ed.die step back and begin to sweat.. he's caught off guard and that question scares him- I can see his uncertainty, this is a make it or break it moment for both of us. Either I give a hint that I liked it and the dumb lil butterflies filling my stomach grows or I act like everyone else in this dumb town and call him a freak or a creep..
I choose the first option.
And so I correct myself "not that I hated it..just.. are we sure it's,, appropriate?"
He looks me up and down, still a lil spooked but he's recovering. "uh.. well," ed.die brings a hand up to hold his chin "I can stop if you want"
he smirks at me, watching as i shake my head at the notion.
"no no! I.. I like it. It's fine.." I look up at him, all nervous with my brows furrowed and my shaky smile, sweat building in my pits and palms.
Ed.die smiles down at me, his eyes flicking farther down past my neck than a 20 year old looking down at someone younger than them by 4 years should be, I can feel his hand on my back travel to a clothed fat roll- it's.. weird.. but.. a good weird?
He goes farther and lands his hand just above my thigh.
"Good," he looks at me with that.. smile.
"Good." He hugs me even closer, if that's even possible, and.. oh fucking hell.
He kisses my forehead.
"so good." He squints his eyes as a taunt, his teeth revealing themselves in a wicked smile as he lets go of me- hearing his uncle's truck door slam closed.
Ed.dies uncle, wa.yne, calls for him as he shuts the front door to their shared trailer.
"comin, I'm comin" ed.die replies as he begins to walk past me, looking back to wink at me before leaving me alone in his room.
