Sometimes you just gotta carve their name in a candle, roll the candle through some special seasoning, and let the spirits and the powers that be handle the rest.

Pagan writers when talking about female deities: "They're a mother goddess"
Pagan writers when talking about male deities: "Well, their role and function is a lot more complicated and important than just just being a father god, and here's a 10k word essay discussing why they're more than just a father god"
OOOOO I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS
This is what originally turned me away from Wicca (among other reasons). So many books, blogs, and other resources seem to have so much built-in misogyny that it boggles my mind.
It's part of why I hate the invention of the "Mother-Maiden-Crone" archetype so much.
No, Hekate is not MMC. She is a powerful force of sorcery and liminality. No, the Morrigan is not MMC. She is a Goddess of bloodshed, mercy, and power.
Reducing such multi-faceted entities, such influential spirits, down to the box that patriarchal systems tried to fit them in is so disrespectful.
Freya, Frigg, Aphrodite, Hekate, Athena, etc. Do many Goddesses have aspects of fertility, nurturing, parenthood? Yeah, they do, just like Zeus, Ares, and Njordr. Is that all they are? Is that even the core of what they influence? Not always.
Immediate red flag if any book you're reading only has Goddesses in the footnotes, as mothers.
Very well said 🙏
Art and magic have a longstanding partnership. A very accessible artform is makeup; which can be used in magic in a variety of ways. Extended explanations can be found in the captions of these images!
A rare hot take from me - If you have to algospeak about a topic like death or sex, or around words like blood or menstruation, you have no business making those topics a focal point of your practice. I don't really interact with occult or spiritual communities outside of Tumblr, but I've seen folks here and on other platforms say things like "s*x magic is the most powerful magic I've ever done" or "I've started doing bl00d magic."
So much of my practice centers around death, dying, and caring for the spirits of the dead. I can't imagine not using the actual words and instead using "d3ad" or "🎲-ing". If a topic is important, powerful, vast, etc. enough to be a central tenant of your spiritual or magical practice then it deserves to be spoken with the real words.
I don't care what platform you're on. Do not comply in advance.
Chaos witch? No, you misheard, I‘m a chaotic witch, I have to look up everything I‘ve known for years again and again. I have a tarot deck in my purse and three at home, two of which I can’t find. I will come up with spells on the fly but only half of them work because I forget something crucial while doing it for example actually speaking my intentions into my ingredients, I am lazy and I forget to practice my craft for weeks on end…
uterus mysticism is weird to me, besides all the bioessentialism stuff, because like. Dude it’s just an organ. Imagine if we did this to the gallbladder or kidneys.
Divine feminine is stored in the appendix actually. appendicitis is just the Virgin Mary trying to break through to you. Never get your appendix removed its mother Mary speaking to you.
More tea leaf divination knowledge. Take notes.
Blessed Be.
why do witches love baths so much?
you can add essential oils for aromatherapy
it’s a great opportunity for meditation
connection to the element of water
extremely customizable (add candles, rose petals, bath bombs, etc)
beauty/self-care/glamour magic
mermaid time
hey
here's your reminder to not to be afraid of your own voice
recite the spell out loud
dance and sing to raise energy
talk to your plants and your crystals
call out omens as you see them
i have a hard time with this, even decades later, so i'm here to remind you that your voice and your craft are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.
say it out loud.
Witchblr will fight about correspondences for 50 days and nights when you could just make up your own correspondences by making observations and drawing your own conclusions about what those observations can mean magically
✨That's how the original correspondences were made from the very start✨
Hey so I'm not an expert but if you're making a spell jar and the jar fucking breaks it's a good thing for the spell right?
