Delightful is good :)
Feel the warmth of the sun in the streaks of your hair,
Feel the breeze of the sea touch your face,
Hold the sand from the beach in the palm of your hand,
Sip the cold drink down your throat,
Sit back and relax in the heart of the ocean,
Play the old tunes lying in the rust of your ipod,
Think about the things that make you smile and the people you love,
Do what it takes to make yourself happy,
Immerse yourself in the joy of the warmth for the cold takes over sooner than you perceive!

Letting Go
Letting go into the black skies, Of the lows to feel the highs, Of the fall to feel the rise, Of the last few goodbyes, Letting go into the dark, To meet the sun after a while, To feel home's a quarter mile, After what seemed like an exile, Letting go into the moonlight, I put up a brave fight, And now, I'm letting go, Of the sorrow and miseries, Of the unsettling memories, Of the futile worries, Into blissful flurries, Letting go into the unknown, To relive what once shone, To see how much I've grown, To end the midnight moan, Letting go into the stars, Of my stabbing scars, To relight my innate powers, Time to raise the diminishing bars, Letting go into the wild night, The past is out of sight, For a future astoundingly bright, Awaits its calling! -VJ
Be a creator. Always. But especially at your lowest.
The vena cavas, the pulmonary artery and vein, the aorta, the auricles (atrium) and ventricles, the bicuspid and tricuspid valves, the myocardium. They help us understand the anatomy of the heart and how it circulates blood. Medicine may also describe how it functions. But none of these terms begin to describe how the heart survives complications. It's a miracle that it beats and works even after all the "complications" it faces outside of its anatomy and physiology.

I know some people think it’s flattering when others copy them or try to be like them. Honestly, I have always found it annoying. There was a phase in high school when I thought, “Okay, yeah, maybe I like it.” Or at least that’s what I chose to believe because that’s what everyone else’s beliefs taught me. But in reality, to me, it is downright infuriating! Because every person that wastes their life “copying” (in whatever way possible), is one life wasted. One dream wasted. One chance to be original wasted. And how exactly is that flattering?
One World!
I love Paris in the spring time. I love Paris in the fall. I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles. I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles.
- Cole Porter
Innumerable disasters have occurred and are occurring. It's difficult to get through without being a little hurt, a little damaged, a little scared, quite a bit traumatized. But love. Love without having to think about skin color. Love without prejudice. Love without societal perceptions. You have to realize why we say love wins. Because it really does.

India has seen all of this before so has the rest of the planet. I'm brown and I study in another country that's not my 'own'. And we have had several terror attacks in the past, the one affecting me most being the attack on Bombay in 2008 because I was old enough to understand that my city was in danger. But I know that my parents were affected most by the 1993 bomb explosions.
The thing is: It's not about one race. It's not about one country. It's not about one terrorist attack. It's about one world. The sooner we get that, the better.

Obscure Imaginations
Her: Obscure imaginations, from the things unknown, What brought us here and how much have we grown? So much ambiguity and so little integrity, Maybe it's time we accept this ain't pretty,
So much to walk and so much to cover, Too many lies and all they do is just hover, Sweeping the dust that fell from fickle bodies, All I can think is, "I could use some Bacardis",
Him: Lying on the ground and feeling the cold, Now you realize there is no one to hold, Things that remain unsaid and that should've been told, What is the point now when your dignity is sold?
Whiling away time to avoid facing the truth, Escapism at its best, I was born uncouth, Tried making mends and all those amends, But I've always known mistakes are my friends,
So I pick up what's mine and make the run, Never looking back on the foolish things I've done, Stifling my sorrows and all that I loved, I live this feigned life now, memories have been shoved, They lie in one corner I never visit, Feelings keep drowning in a bottomless pit, Why has my soul been so pitilessly hit? Maybe I caused this, yes every bit!
Her: Waiting to find some answers myself, waiting all alone, Keep getting pulled back with a scent of his fresh cologne, Why doesn’t it ring, this fucking damn smartphone? After all this crap and all the love I have shown?
Him: Obscure imaginations, from the things unknown, What brought us here and how much have we grown?

Don’t they say life is short?
It doesn't take much to change a life. A little help could do that for someone.
Maybe, they're just having a bad day and need one reason to go on. You can be that reason. Damn hell, be that reason. Play a song that cheers a crowd. Make a child happy with a candy bar. Buy the roses people sell on the street. Hold doors for the elderly. Hold doors for anybody (Totally giving credit to Wooster for teaching me this). Don't make fun of the people that break down. Go give them a hug. A hug always does it. Ask people to share. Not because you want to tell the next breathing person you see how fucked up someone's life is but because you genuinely care. And because maybe you're in a better place and can help them be too. Don't be that venomous person who carries "hearts in jars". Be the magnanimous person who carries just one "heart in a jar". Their own. And be ever ready to give it away. Don't laugh when people fall. Pick them up. Never throw away food unless you really, really have to. Or at least have some remorse. I come from a country full of starving people. It's not cool. Period. And don't abuse. Not people, not pets, not anything or anyone. Period.
If you can afford it, buy the things a single mother has to give up at the billing counter. She has already given up a lot in life. Maybe a can of beans will make her kids happy. Who knows? You can never know. But do it anyway. You will go home feeling the best. Help a single dad with his daughter’s hair (even though this one could apply to most dads, single or not! :P). Leave a few dollars/rupees (sorry I talk in two currencies now, it can be annoying yes!) in a place where you think a needy person/ friend/anyone hungry could pick it up (I learnt this from a friend. And I'm very grateful!). Once in a while, take something sweet (if nothing, chocolates are the key!) to work for everyone in your department or in all departments. Whatever you can do at the time (Learnt this from my summer job!). Buy a grumpy non-morning person some coffee. Smile. Yeah I know you do. Smile again. Even if it's not your thing. Dance in your car because it makes passers by laugh (This is all me. Made every person in every passing bus laugh when I was in Bombay. Best way to start your day!). Kiss. Do it in public. Or in the middle of a train station (Ok, maybe not in Bombay, but I'd still say try!). For 8 minutes. It helps people believe in love. Break some kind of a record. Make some kind of a record. Build relationships. Don't be the person to walk out. Be the one who stays. Always. It's a regret free life. But if you're being harassed, or tormented, walk out with a head held high. And then go help others.
There's always going to be at least one person who's worse off than you. Level it. We're becoming that world where the "selfish gene" has made whole selfish people. The gene needs to be selfish for survival, to become able to be passed on from one generation to another. You don't. You need to do nice things and help people so the next generation remembers and learns from you.
That’s the only way we survive even when we don’t. With the memories we leave behind. Make them all good ones. Or at least most of them. Go. Now. #don'theysaylifeisshort?
