How'd I cut back on caffeine? The usual. Diet, discipline. One thing that helped a lot was that I harnessed the void. I tapped into the little incipient void which sits at the heart of every thinking animal, and I fed it. I hatefully nurtured it with every malicious thought, every unkind impulse, every knee-jerk reaction best discarded, and it gorged on these things it metastasized. It swelled past the confines of my heart and fought for space with with my stomach, my liver, my intestines, winning handily, subsuming each in turn, until I was little more than a man-shaped howling wrathful abyss sheathed in taut, paper-thin human hide, wandering through this fallen world in anticipation of whatever fleeting offense finally catalyzes my inevitable rupture and detonation. listen it's not that I think epic the musical is a perfect adaption of the odyssey but it was an impressive passion project that knew what it wanted to be and knew what people gravitated to in the original work and it put significant effort into conveying this through its unique medium and tone to the point that hundreds of other people felt compelled to put effort into their own artistic interpretations of that version of the story. and that's really cool! and yes I would be more critical if it was a 100 million dollar project made by a professional because what the fuck do you mean you're a world-famous director and you cut the my name is nobody scene are you goddamn serious

it's not my preferred way to engage with media but a ship dynamic i do have a fondness for is what i've taken to calling "the poor man's rpf", ie: when two (or more) people could viably be the source of lurid speculative fiction and tabloid journalism about the nature of their relationship in the reality they inhabit

"isn't this technically all ships" well yes but it's about context. the characters need to be famous (or infamous) enough that they could reasonably be the subject of headlines like the one featuring matt damon and ben affleck from which the phrase "which could mean nothing" originated. they need to be getting the dan and phil treatment from mentally unwell fans on social media forums. the conspiracy theories formed about them should make gaylors look rational and sane.

& minor details!

i found this tarot card to be quite fitting for soph's arc, overall, and how much she's grown and changed and come into her own over the series; but i also found its reversed meaning (of unfulfillment, stagnation, a lack of proper completion) to be kind of apt for where she's at right now

originally, the four figures represent the four elements, and the harmony between them, but here i chose to do four different components of who sophie is – all kind of family members in their own way. one might say: bea, why is forkle not here, and to that, i'd respond, well, dear asker, i didn't want to draw his bitch ass

so these figures are amy (air sign, shown originally as a man), oralie (water sign, shown as an eagle), calla (earth sign, the bull), and prentice (fire sign, the lion)

the two wands held by the dancer here are meant as a homage to the magician (card ii) and since in the personal tarot canon i have in my own personal head, dex is the magician, i made these wands branches from sophie and dex's wanderling trees!

& the wreath is made from panakes blossoms <3
