fandoms in general seem to struggle with the idea that not every element of a story is going to be equally important, and generally things that are less important will get less screen time than the things that are important. the answer to “why does this character only appear for one or two scenes” is usually just “their role in the story was to advance the plot in a few scenes and there wasn’t a good reason to bring them back, since the story isn’t about them.” the idea of a story where every single character who ever appears is given the same level of development is simply not realistic, unless the cast is extremely small.
