Peter had been trying to talk to Tony all day. First in the elevator that morning, as they headed up to Tony’s mandatory Sunday breakfast with the team. Peter had been thrilled to catch Tony alone for once, and had reached in his backpack for the small package and card he had bought yesterday, only to turn around and see Tony on his phone, talking loudly about the pillows on his bed and why they just weren’t fluffy enough, and yes he was aware pillows deflated, but he needed perpetually fluffy pillows.

Peter had just sighed and put the package away.

Sterek Fics Collection

Hello everyone !

In this time of quarantine, I thought about all my fellow Sterek fans who may need their daily dose of Sterek goodness. I know how overwhelming it can be to try and find fics in this particular fandom because there are SO MANY out there.

So, in their honor, I’ve decided to share with you the Sterek Collections I’ve created since I started to read fics about these two wonderful boys.

Because I love these guys very much, I’ve selected the best of the best and organized the fics in 4 collections:

-          The “Cutie Pie” Collection – Mainly fluff and utter cuteness, because Stiles and Derek deserve some happiness for godsake!

-          The “Hot Damn!” Collection – You all know what I mean by “hot damn”. Here’s a sample of the hottest and most sensually beautiful Sterek fics out there. I’d like to warn everyone that I’m a hopeless romantic and that sex just of the sake of sex isn’t usually doing it for me. So, most of the fics on this list will be Porn With (A LOT OF) Feelings. Cause nothing is sexier than two people in love making love.

-          My Very Own Top 20 (+1) – This is THE List for me. Those fics own my heart and have invaded my soul. They are a MUST READ NOW kind of deal. If you haven’t read some of these, go right ahead, you won’t be disappointed.

-          A list of the best of the best fics out there – I usually rate the fics I’ve read with a “star” system and the fics in this collection have all rated 5 stars out of 5 stars. They are the fics that didn’t make it to my Top 20 but deserve all the love anyway.

Note: I update these collections regularly (because I’m still reading a shit-ton of Sterek fics) and apart from my Top 20, I’ll add new content.

What do you think Bitty’s reaction is when he sees that Jack keeps all of his little notes?

Imagine him shuffling into the kitchen one morning, the first morning he’s ever slept in later than Jack. Normally Jack gets up before Bitty has even stirred, goes for a run, showers, and gets back in bed to cuddle Bitty awake. Bitty wakes up with soft kisses down his neck and his boyfriend whispering good morning into his skin and he can’t think of anything he would rather wake up to. 

But this time, they stay up late talking and… other things. Bitty knows Jack is especially tired from a long week, so he convinces Jack to turn off his alarm for the next morning and sleep in a bit; he deserves a day off. Surprisingly, Jack reluctantly agrees.

So Bitty wakes to the sound of Jack’s soft breathing beside him, rolls over to see Jack’s face all relaxed with sleep, his lashes dark against his skin. Bitty pauses to appreciate how lucky he is to be waking up to this man, and carefully leans over and kisses Jack’s forehead before slipping out of bed. He grabs one of Jack’s shirts on his way out; it’s so soft and so big on him, and it smells like Jack. Bitty loves it. 

So he’s trying to be as quiet as possible as he walks out into the kitchen with the intention of making breakfast for Jack. Normally they do it together, which is always fun, but Bitty really wants to take advantage of this one opportunity to have Jack wake up to a breakfast he loves. 

Bitty doesn’t even notice the notes at first. He’s already halfway through mixing the pancake batter and is just about to put away the milk when he catches sight of his own handwriting. He stops dead with one hand outstretched to open the fridge, and his mouth is hanging open a little bit as he stares at the rows of post it notes that are on the fridge in front of him. 

And the thing is, Bitty knows that Jack loves him. He knows it; Jack isn’t shy about telling him, he tells him all the time, and Bitty sees the look in Jack’s eyes when he says it to him. It’s as intense as his game face, but so much softer, and it makes Bitty feel like he’s the only person in Jack’s world for those few moments. He knows Jack loves him. 

This makes him feel different, though. Those moments when Jack tells him he loves him are beautiful and Bitty feels weak in the knees when he hears it, but those are moments Jack chooses to share with him. This is different. Bitty feels like he’s peeking behind the curtain, looking past the affectionate touches and the reverent smile Jack gives him–the one that tugs softly at the corners of his mouth and makes Bitty’s heart flutter–and seeing just how deeply embedded into Jack’s life he is. It seems silly, but his heart is racing and suddenly he realizes that when Jack isn’t with him, he’s thinking about him. When Bitty is miles and miles away from him, Jack is still here in this kitchen, loving him just as much as if Bitty were standing right in front of him. Bitty feels silly for being so overwhelmed by it, but he’s tearing up and he can tell that he’s smiling stupidly but he doesn’t care. Jack thinks about him in those quiet moments that he has by himself in his apartment… even when they’re apart and he’s alone, he wants little pieces of Bitty with him. He loves Bitty that much, so much that he doesn’t get tired of being reminded of him. 

Bitty has known Jack loves him for a while now, but it isn’t until that moment that he really realizes the magnitude of it, because Jack keeps his silly little notes on his fridge and Bitty has never been happier in his entire life.

Working So Hard for the Glory Days

Will’s in the locker room, running a hand through his hair—he’s hoping it’s one of those lucky days where it dries into something not resembling a poofy mess—when some guy in a Falconers polo comes up next to him and touches his elbow.

“Will,” he says quietly. “George would like to see you.”

Oh, god, it’s finally happening.

Will freezes and has to remind himself to lower his arm.

For the last few weeks, this exact scenario—meeting with the GM near the end of training camp—is what he’s been either dreading or dreaming about, depending on the hour.

Will nods, still in a daze, and follows the guy through the maze of hallways at the Dunk, until they reach a set of chairs in front of George’s office. Derek Nurse—“Nursey,” he said, all casual, the first time they met—is already there, slouched in one of the armchairs and fiddling with his phone. Will sits down in the armchair next to him, but he doesn’t look up.

Will knows Nursey, of course. He signed with the Falconers a few months ago as a free agent after college, just like Will did, and they’ve been paired together as defense partners pretty frequently, through rookie camp and now training camp.

They play together nicely, he thinks, but they aren’t exactly friends. Cliques form pretty naturally, even within a cohesive team like the Falcs seem to be, and Nursey hangs out more with a couple of the established guys, Ransom and Holster, while Will’s become friends with two of the other rookies, Chowder and Tango.

Honestly, Will feels kind of out of his league around him, even in a friend way. Nursey’s not only good at hockey—he’s insanely good, Will is definitely jealous—but he’s cool. In that effortless way that Will has always kind of envied but never even tried to emulate. Nursey’s handsome and funny and smiles a lot, and people seem to just gravitate to him.

Will’s a little intimidated, okay, he’s man enough to admit it.

He’s also nervous right now, nervous as fuck, and he smooths out a nonexistent wrinkle in his jeans about three times. Preseason games start in a week, and guys have been been dropping off like flies for the past several days, getting reassigned down to juniors or the AHL. Will really hopes that’s not going to be him. He thinks he’s been doing pretty well, but the coaches are fairly inscrutable and he really has no idea what his chances are here.

Dex has Jack’s wallet in the sin bin. “I’m charging this to your credit card. I’m starting a Square account. My business is gonna be called ‘Jack and Bitty are Gross’.” Dex says, jangling the jar for emphasis.

Jack does not care. At all. He’s laying on his stomach (on the floor because the couch in full), his arms wrapped around a pillow, head tilted just so, to be able to look down at Bitty.

He’s smiling a gigantic smile..

“Ya’ll should TRY THIS.” Bitty drawls, head rolling back and forth. He has a big gormless grin, and his eyes are closed with bliss.

“I’ll try it!” Shitty yells, but Lardo grabs his arm and keeps him on the couch. “No, you won’t.” Jack laughs quietly, cheeks hurting with how big he’s smiling. “I tell you this, I ain’t NEVER usin’ a real pillow again. I declare this right here to be the finest headrest ever a man has used.” He reaches back and pats the other butt cheek for emphasis. “He sounds like a civil war ghost.” Nursey says. “Twisted teas will do that to him.” Ransom tells him. Bitty isn’t finished. “Mister Zimmermann, you just gotta come to terms with the fact you gonna live here with me forever. Cuz these buns, hun, are my raison d'être.“

“And would you say, Eric Richard Bittle, that your anaconda don’t want none unless you have said buns?” Holster is standing nearby. Filming with his phone.

Jack knows he should be annoyed at anyone recording this. But, God, he can’t be mad at anyone. Not right now.

“Nu-uh. Anaconda don’t want NONE but this.” He pats Jack’s ass again.

Everyone is laughing, and there are tears running down Shitty’s face, but Bitty doesn’t seem to notice. He is far too content.

And Jack…Jack is way too in love.

Free Pie in Studio B

I was watching Netflix’s new baking show Sugar Rush and I was wondering who got to eat all that extra cake after the show, and then this fic happened.

It’s on AO3.

Some production assistant with more headgear than a teenager at the orthodontist’s sticks his head in the dressing room door and nearly scares the shit out of Jack.

“Free pie in Studio B!” he says—shouts, really—and ducks back out of the room.

Jack hears him down the hall, yelling at some other poor soul: “Ted, free pie in Studio B!”

“Oh shit!” someone replies, presumably Ted. “It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”

Jack checks a calendar on the wall. It is indeed Wednesday. He’s not sure what that has to do with free pie.

“Jack!” Another person has stopped by Jack’s room, this time someone he knows. It’s Martha, the PA who was assigned to him when he arrived on set this morning. She’d noticed his nervousness right away and has been a godsend helping Jack navigate the surprisingly complicated task of giving a 10 minute interview for a local news station. Jack’s interview is over, so he’s in the process of preparing to go home.

“Hi, Martha,” he says.

“Jack, there’s free pie in Studio B.”

Jack blinks. “Okay?”

Martha waves for him to get up until he does. “Do you like pie?”

Jack shrugs. “I guess. What’s this about?”

“Just follow me.”

James noticed his disinterest in girls long before Sirius realised his friends had developed an interest in them to begin with. Coming from a very open minded home, James observed the fact and tucked it away for later.

The ridiculousness of James’ crush on Lily Evans in third year broke through Sirius’ obliviousness on the matter. He told James he didn’t get what the big deal with the Evans girl was and “so what if Dorcas told you she fancies Remus? It’s not like it’s his fault, stop being a dick to him about it”

While James, Peter and Remus spent fourth year tongue tied and making fools of themselves in front of girls, Sirius didn’t and ended up getting a reputation of being suave merely by being capable of coherent speech and having full control of his mental faculties around them. 

It hit Sirius like a sledgehammer one day when he realised he was acting like a complete idiot around Nate Roebuck.

He had wanted to think on what the fuck that was about for a few days, but ended up telling James a few hours later that he thought he had a crush on the Ravenclaw.

James was pretty indignant because “Seriously? you know if they beat Hufflepuff next week we won’t win the cup”

Sirius didn’t know what to say to that because surely this was pretty weird? 

James had just shrugged “Nah I figured guys might be your thing. Nate though? You could do better” “But I should like girls?” and James stared because surely Sirius didn’t think that was the only option?

But he did, so James ended up having a talk he really thought Sirius’ crazy parents should have covered along with the birds and the bees a long time ago

James teased him lightly about it since Sirius teased him about Evans, and that was how Peter and Remus found out in the dorm one night. It hadn’t occurred to Sirius that some people might have an issue with it due to James’ matter of fact explanation and acceptance and it didn’t at that point either. Peter had nodded like it had made perfect sense and grinned “my auntie Eileen’s gay. You know, the one that got caught trying to breed Hippogriffs with Thestrals -” which had lead to a discussion about auntie Eileen and all the incredible (if illegal) things she had done.

Remus hadn’t said anything, but he’d smiled warmly and Sirius missed him gazing curiously at him throughout Peter’s recount (James didn’t).

Nothing happened with Nate, and his first kiss came as somewhat of a surprise from Andrew from the year above him at the Gryffindor common room Halloween party (other than a couple of snogs, nothing really came of that either).

James noticed Remus’ ever more frequent stares and pink tinged cheeks long before Sirius did and spent a good few months winding him up about it. It amused him to no end to watch Sirius obliviously grow closer and closer to Remus who for some reason, despite all evidence to the contrary, was laboured under the belief that his crush was one sided. 

As ever, Sirius remained completely unaware until - having spent the past hour lounging on Remus’ bed while Remus made notes for an assignment and played with his hair - James had wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at him. And what James had suggestively implied for months now finally seemed to sink in.

“Fuck Prongs, I think I love Moony.”  “You might think you do, but I know you do, you prat.”  “You could have told me!”  “Literally everyone but you knows.” ”Sod off no they don’t.”

When Peter and James walked in on them snogging the next day Peter summoned confetti and activated some self blowing party blowers while James let fireworks off.

“Finally, do you know how long we’ve been carrying these for this very occasion?”  “Thanks for the theatrics, you can leave now .”  “Wait Prongs prepared a speech.”  “Oh merlin, will you - James have you actually written one?” “You have no idea how happy I am for you -” “Is that parchment double sided?”  “James you’d better be joking.” “My deerest friends -”  “Was that a deer pun?” “Wormtail stop laughing, go away.”  “Take the overly dramatic twat with you.”  “Told you they wouldn’t let you read it.” “There are more puns I promise-” “Leave.” “Surely we’ve ruined the mood to an irreparable point now?” “Yes, thanks for that.” “No problem, I need to finish my Herbology homework.” “I’ll help if you like.” “Oi Padfoot, mum and dad sent a letter earlier for us.”

These are all great but let’s not forget two characters giving extremely biased flashbacks to the same event that each paint the other as an incompetent loon

He spots Parson sitting on one of the couches with a duffle bag, backpack and a suitcase next to him. He’s looking at his phone. None of the other prospects milling around him are talking to him. He’s always seemed cocky in interviews, so maybe he thinks he’s too good to make friends with prospects who probably won’t make the roster. He’s smaller than Jeff expected even though he’s read his stats. Still, he’s skinny for a hockey player. Reaper had mentioned that in all the tape they’d seen, he never fought. Zimmermann pulled every threat off him if a defenseman wasn’t there in time. Reaper was sure that was because he couldn’t fight for shit. Looking at him now, Jeff wonders if he’ll snap the first time he gets hit by one of the bigger guys. They are going to have to make a point on the ice right away that they don’t tolerate guys coming for him. “Hey,” Jeff waves awkwardly when he gets closer and the kid’s face shows his nerves for just a second before he covers it up and smiles. “I’m Jeff.
