KIANA LEDE, CISFEMALE, SHE/ER || just saw INDIE MILLER around town. i think they’re 24 years old and have been here for THREE years. SHE is a TATTOO ARTIST here in san diego and seem to be CHARMING and AMBITIOUS. but i’ve heard they’re also MOODY and RESERVED, i guess that’s because they’re a SCORPIO. they really seem to have PATCHWORK TATTOOS, BLACK ACRYLICS, and ART STUDIO BEDROOM vibes. (louisa, she/her, 20, gmt)
indie miller was born the oldest of five children. when she was seven, her parents gave birth to her brother zealand, shortly followed a year later by gracie, then nathaniel and finally, florence. she had a happy childhood, one filled with love and laughter. even if they didn’t have much, they had each other.
on indie’s 15th birthday, her father got promoted at work, moving them from arizona to los angeles. between starting a new school, and exploring the surrounding area, indie fell in love with art. a year later, full sketchbooks lined the walls of her room, and empty coffee jars full of pencils and paintbrushes flooded her desk. it was when she began painting on her siblings that indie discovered her calling: she wanted to be a tattoo artist
it was no surprise to anyone when she went to art school at eighteen, interning at a tattoo studio on the side, and by the time she left college at 21, she was qualified, and had saved enough money from working to put down a deposit on her own studio in san diego.
coincidentally, this was around the time that indie’s parents started working constantly, trying to give the kids the best life possible, but having no time for the children. indie agreed to take over custody of the children, moving them all to san diego with her, after getting a bigger place.
z, gracie, nathaniel and florence all live with indie full time now, and whilst it’s stressful, she wouldn’t have her life any other way
facts
despite having full time custody of the kids, zealand, now seventeen helps a lot with the younger kids, giving indie free time where he can
she’s a good time girl through and through, there’s nothing indie loves more than a good party. glitter, disco balls, loud music and lights is completely her calling.
as well as her siblings, indie also shares her apartment with two ball pythons and two rabbits, as well as all her plant babies
she’s constantly tired because she’s a workaholic, and pretty much runs on black coffee. she’s irratable, snarky and rude, but an incredibly loyal friend if you get on the right side of her
“see now the really funny thing about that is that sometimes i think i’d have turned out right if i didnt have a father,” she sighs, looking down at her drink. “but like...at least we’re hot right?”
“for real! the dude was like… get this dragon painted on my face,” he laughs as he explains what happened to him earlier that day. “and i said, first of all. i tattoo, i don’t paint. and then he wanted me to charge him like ten dollars? the fuck? we’re not running a charity here, get the fuck out, man.”
“no way?” she exclaims, eyebrows peaked as she looks at him. these buisness meetings, as they officially called them, but really were just an excuse to close up shop for a little bit and get lunch. “sometimes the general public suck,” she sighs, shaking her head. “but still, part and parcel of us having a completely awesome job i guess.”
“I need your opinion. Which is a better be more of a responsible purchase? An ipad or cute puppy? I bought one and I need to explain to my land lord I can keep it.” A small whine could be in heard coming from Valle’s jacket.
“an ipad is definitely a more responsible purchase, but like...are you telling me a puppy wouldn’t make you happier?” she raises an eyebrow at the other, grinning when she hears the whine coming from the others pocket. “okay i absolutely have to see the baby now.”
it’s a slow day at the tattoo shop, her slowest for a while, and she’s sitting behind the reception desk, drawing up potential designs for clients when he walks in. her eyes narrow, pencil and sketchbook placed down on the desk quietly as she looks him up and down. She hasn’t seen him in two weeks, since he left her bed that morning with a note claiming he needed space. “jude. nice of you to show up.”
