it kills me how in ep 6 claudia keeps desperately bringing up madeleine and it seems like louis and lestat didn’t even think to consider her because like, that’s her louis, dynamic wise claudia so perfectly fits the role lestat had of finding someone, falling in love with them, and turning them after feeling sure that they’d take to it. imagine how insane it would be to EVEN CONSIDER separating loustat like that and yet they can’t conceptualize claudia experiencing that same pain because they never really saw her as her own person!! with her own life and love!!

the writers did so fucking well at portraying and deconstructing the over abundant amount that lestat in the text romanticizes his abusers. he calls it the "seduction of magnus" multiple times throughout the vampire chronicles instead of admitting he was preyed upon. when you read the books you have to look between the lines of his flowery prose and avoidance but the show took a corny over the top music video style approach and then slammed it next to a full blown ptsd flashback to make sure the audience did not have a chance to misinterpret or mock anything and i respect them for that

armand was genuinely so funny last episode like he’s planning out his apology tour and he’s like “okay let’s start with lestat…i will break into his trailer while he’s sleeping and everyone else is gone which won’t freak him out at all because i have never once been involved in the disappearance of his loved ones, and then i will read my apology letter which goes chronologically and doesn’t start with the murder of his daughter which is clearly the main thing he’s upset about and also our last interaction with each other and then i will tell him to stop making music that announces vampires exist even though i contributed to a book that also announced vampires exist and that he was one and included his full name and physical description and instructions on how to kill him that people have been attempting to do in my name”
