Prince Damianos keeps sneaking into Prince Laurentās chambers before morning drills (behind King Augusteās back andĀ through the balcony, like a Scoundrel) to do scandalous thingsā¦ such as engaging in soft, teasing conversations (and RESPECTFULLY ADMIRING Prince Laurent in his translucent bed shirts)
Damen: We donāt have theseā¦ pĆŖches in Akielos, but uh. Lazar told me I should start eating one every morningā¦? They taste good but do they have special properties or smth? Thoughts?
Laurent: š Hmm. Heās got a point.

Ohhh anon my condolences on an upcoming difficult time.... Best of luck for your exams!!! Unfortunately I am a bit attached to my upload schedule BUT I hope you can take comfort in knowing that ch21 is the final chapter of the main story and 22 is a short epilogue, so you won't be on too much of a cliffhanger.

Hey! I had a question about your writing process. From the moment you decide to write/work on something to actually finishing it, how long do you take? I know there's probably not a fixed time, but is there an approximate time frame, according to you? Or is it that each project even if it's within the same word count takes wildly different amounts of time because of the subject matter? Thanks! (P.S: I only recently found you work in education, and that makes a lot of sense now! (Compliment))
Hi anon!! Unfortunately the answer is usually "a long time". Less so for subject matter reasons and mostly because I pretty much always have several projects on the go and will be flipping between them, so unless something feels really breezy and comes out really quickly with none of the, I guess, resistance? or friction?* that would see me switch fics for a while, there will probably be a month or several where I don't add any words to it at all.
*This can be anything from "I don't know how to transition from point A to point B", "I'm not feeling this scene", "I don't know what to do next", "I know exactly what I need to do next but I don't feel like it", etc. etc. My solution to pretty much any problem that I don't think I can solve in a day or two, and/or to multiple days of low output, is to drop the fic, work on something else, and come back later**. And of course sometimes another project might seduce me away even if I haven't hit any resistance at all.
**The exception to this would be longer fics -- in those cases my solution to friction is go work on another part of the fic, which is more possible because there's more to work on. I did this a lot with ACOT at various points!
But this ask did get me curious so I went and checked the first and last dates on a bunch of my latest fics on my beautiful spreadsheet:
experience by experience, 14k written, 10k posted: 15/03ā29/12 (š). I had FORGOTTEN but I actually wrote 10k from 15/03ā21/04 and then wasn't sure if I liked it so sat on it for, apparently, the rest of the YEAR.
Mango Croissant War, 10k written, 6.5k posted: 04/05ā29/11, but I didn't work on this at all from July-October
shaken to the core, 7.5k written, 6.5k posted: 09/08ā11/09. A quick one!
binary system, 17.5k written, 14.5k posted: 24/11/24ā10/05/25. I always think of this as one of my "quick" fics but it's not really, it still took five months. I didn't touch it for most of January and all of February & March.
Subtle Signs You've Totally Misread the Situation, 14.5k written, 11.5k posted: 17/06/2024ā16/03/2025. Nine months, but I didn't touch it in July, October, December, or January.
Not very surprisingly, my collabs have tended to go a bit faster:

Breach of Contract with @penguinmerchant, 33k posted, we worked on it from 28/01ā28/03
